Imo and having had same issue on smaller amounts, if Ive paid and then Co goes bust or whatever, then I claim back that what I have already paid "in good faith" (and to avoid a fine of course lol)

If you have paid vat on an invoice and that invoice is not then paid to you (inc vat) of course you are entitled to it being refunded or credited against future vat returns... !
