~ " why have so many posts been taken down? " ~
Why indeed ?
On the 11th / 11 I posted a note under `Remembrance Day ` paying respect to our Armed Forces , which in no way contravened the ` LSE Rules`. I regarded their action of removing it as disrespectful . So much so , that I wrote a note to LSE complaining about their action :
"Sir ,
Last night I posted a note on the 88e BB under the thread title : `Remembrance Day` .
My post in no way contradicted your Rules of Compliance .
On the contrary , as a British subject I simply highlighted the significance of this day in our History and into the future .
I specifically drew attention to the fortitude of our Armed forces past and present and thanked them for their courage , sacrifice and devotion to duty .
In my post I said that I believed that we will forever owe those who gave us our freedom in this Country an eternal debt of gratitude .
I said that this was the one day in the year that all citizens of the United Kingdom should respect with the dignity and honour it deserves .
I was very disappointed to see that today for reasons unknown you had removed my post .
I regard that as an insult to the freedom of speech that we enjoy in this Country ,
but more importantly an action which was disrespectful and insulting to those who serve our Country and keep its people safe
Sincerely
V111JAS. "
Sadly , so far not even the courtesy of some bland response .
I no longer post on A D V F N , they have serious problems of a different nature , but LSE should , imo , find a much more balanced means of monitoring posts and differentiating between offense , disruption , lies and abuse .
While I continue to read certain threads , I notice that some valued contributors have also seemed to have lost their enthusiasm to post quite so much .
Certainly this is a somewhat strange policy if LSE want to encourage people to trade up to their premium formats .
btw ~ Good luck with 88e !
