the info I read did not state the vaccination status of the people who died whether they were single , double ,or not at all vaccinated so difficult to form a true idea on what the position will be in the future , I know a couple of people who have had covid recently one double jabbed no serious effects , another un jabbed also no serious effects , unfortunately its like a bloody lottery who survives and who does not

800 died in the last seven days not over a thousand , it remains to be seen if the number goes up or down in the future , no one can honestly predict what will happen , one thing is certain the country cannot be closed down permanently so at some time we will have to learn to cope with it

thanks for your replies regarding tankers etc

if their is a direct pipeline to the airports surely their are minimum tankers at airports to move fuel about , also isn't the airport land private , therefore do the tankers have to go through the same formalities as tankers being driven on the uk roads , I know they will have to meet certain safety standards but I thought they were not as strict as tankers on uk roads being as they're on private land , happy to be corrected if wrong

not just the bucket and spade brigade that use EZJ people go to visit family in other countries and of course theirs the people who use EZJ for weekend breaks to EU destinations such as Ireland , Czech Republic etc etc those breaks happen all year round , so as more people are vaccinated people will begin to feel more confident , having said that I do think it will be a slow march forward as many people are still somewhat nervous , covid will be here for a long time yet and people will learn to live with it , football and concerts are now happening , things are beginning to pick up , its not all doom and gloom , but will take a while to recover , not as far in the future that one particular poster believes . IMO GLA

I personally think a slow grind to 2023 before things will be back to 75\80% for world wide travel , European travel a bit sooner at the same ratio , reason being that rest of world will not reach vexed levels we have here , or USA or Europe , so variant could be swirling around for a while to come , having said that people are fed up with covid and may take a chance on travel to European destinations in which case I see things improving ,I think this year is not going to be as good as I had hoped , we shall see , thanks for the welcome aboard

years is still not many many years which implies more than 3 or even 4 years , the price is depressed at moment , and so is travel , but you cannot say it will not return for many many years as much as I cannot say it will be back to normal by year end , both views are ludicrous , we all hope it will be better sooner rather than later, well most of us do , obviously you are a glass half empty type of individual , many here are glass half full , obviously it pays to read your view once or twice but to keep re hashing the same view is just plain boring ,

I,m not quite sure I read smithy's last post correctly , no profit next year and unlikely in the following year , surely not , maybe wishful thinking , I feel they'll make profit next year and beyond but debt will be a major factor and how they deal with that for me is the real question

yes buy anything US really , you chat **** , I have both UK / US and my UK dividend stocks are better than my US stocks , so don't buy ANYTHING US

I disagree with your reply , the people you talk of are the minority not the norm and I do not believe their are sufficient as you state , I work in London in construction and I have worked at many places where both adults have to work just to live a standard life , its very competitive in London to get work and I know for a fact that some people earn more money outside of the south east even as far north as lincs , therefore I think your views are somewhat flawed

I certainly hope we do not dilute just so ii s can increase their foothold , I like the fact that the pi have the majority of shares , I also like the fact that the SP is depressed for the time being as it gives me an opportunity to average down further , all be it slowly , GLA

yes I realise that is what normally happens , its just that we have had some large sellers and yet we the pi s have been snapping up those shares too , obviously as SP does go up some will sell but if the current trend continues and we continue to buy say up to 45 p just wondering how the fund managers can get into the stock in a meaningful way ,

the reason I asked the question is I have read on here that SD is trying to get ii s on board , well as I see it , with the pi s holding the majority of shares and still holding I cannot see how the fund managers can increase their holdings by a meaningful amount , well as long as pi s stay resolute and hold for the long term
