I am wondering why those hedge fund short positions are still there? Perhaps they let them run back up to their entry point and then buy back.

I still believe the fault lies with Kier. Most people were awaiting an end of July update, when it didn't arrive traders started loosing trust. The only reason I didn't sell was because I was so overwhelmed by the size of the drop and other instruments taking a tank.

Instead he said that the 30th July date was the plan because when the new CEO arrived he promised the results of his strategic review and a trading statement by the end of July. Of course, we had both the review and a profits/ballooning debt warning on 17 June but that did not change the intent then to provide a full year ( to June 30th) update on July 30th.

Boris is a bit of an egomaniac. When it comes to playing the get out of EU without a deal he might just go on holiday or equivalent. He makes lots of promises he doesn't intend to keep. Kier say net debt will be higher,month to month averaging. Saving just over £81m by not paying dividend and the debt restructuring could go a long way to offloading it.
