This deal has gone against everything they said they would not do during the past four years. They have not only destroyed the share price,but in effect sold the company at third of its price. To boot they still get millions of share options.
P s . I voted,but whatever happens I am a seller. Many other better investments out there inmv.even oil and gas. For example Harbour.

Maybe they should be held to account if this does turn out to be a dud deal by the sfo, fca , and Us equivelent, Hopefully if this does go through it is a sound honest deal for all shareholders irrespective of how they become share holders inmho.

My view is the company will wait until after the vote before releasing an ops update. I would then not be surprised if a share buy back programme is instigated if the the vote favours this deal. As there could be further pressure on the share price inmh with Mercuria suffering a paper loss.

fwiw . I think they will provide an ops date next week to coinside with the vote, but it would be nice to get one before

There is still a possibility that the spring budget brings some hope as the con party will hopefully try and keep their grass root voters on board together with business. So maybe if inflation falls further and more retorech comes from oil and gas industry(similar to Harbour today ) They could end up reducing the levy somewhat. inmo

I wouldnt feel so bad had i recieved tax relief over the years. Both my Sip and isa have been built from very low amounts, but i have been penalised left right and centre with taxes. Then on top of that what is happening with wft on my largest investment.
Its as if they are deliberatly trying to destroy anyone that has made money off their own back and subsidise anyone who has not.

HMG the new socialist cuddly party are now considering a new tax raid. For me this is just as bad this wft.
Isas could now be capped at 100 thousand and then taxed. So if you say for example paid in a few thousand , but turned it into over one hundred thousand you will be hit. Apparently a think tank now says that making money in a isa is unfare
as the poor have not been able to gain benefits in an isa. So this money should be returned to the poor.
I give up now. I feel it is now time to just spend everything and let hmg pick up the tab.Either that or quickly find a way to transfer money overseas. Going back to Serica well why bother just return all funds to shareholders this government do not deserve a penny inmv. Another reason to vote no inmho.

If this does get voted through it still may not be as bad as first thought. If you are correct that oil improves and providing that most of Tailwinds profit for 2023 could be written off with the tax credits then by year end we could see an improvement in the share price. There is also the outstanding debt which i would imagine the interest on this can be tax deductable.

Both gas and oil down today with gas down the most. The concern for me is that when will the government view the taxation and at what level would they feel obliged to cut taxation.
This inmv is another reason as to why this deal should not go ahead as how can any uk oil and gas company make a profit if these prices continue to fall. Surely the institutions are now looking at this very closely.

There are very few investors inmv that exit at the top. In fairness to the bods no one saw the added tax coming with no end date set.
Diversifying into oil could be the answer,but who knows. All I know is that OPEC still dictates prices More so than ever now INMHO.So we may still end up with a value added asset.
