It just goes to show that any oil and gas acquisition on a overseas asset adds instant value to a UK listed company. if Serica really do want to add value for all stakeholders they should take note of this.

The key here is that there needs to be some kind of lock in period to stop the warrants being sold together with bond conversion. I held a stock a number of years back which raised funds in a similar way. The bond hold sold the shares and converted the bonds. The shares almost became worthless. I am not saying that this going happen here ,but it is a possibility. Fwiw i am still a holder of shares here.

Many months ago i posted that the likes of BP could have been more vocal. I still stand by that,but unfortunately they are just as bad as the spineless gvnmt. Week shallow softies. All very well,but the world these day's is a little bit more tougher inmo

Inmv. They have been doing this for a while. I. E Triton. Maybe other operators are doing this kind of thing. Unofficially of course. The Danger here is Hmg will simply create new laws and courts held by a single judge preciding. So in other words any action will need to be plausible. At this rate most UK citizens are going to end up either in prison or with a criminal record. Hopefully most Hmg will also be part of that.mind you they will still probably claim everyone else for the disharmony and mess they are creating inmv

I am sure you have already thought about this, but could you send this link to all North Sea oil gas bb. Not just on Lse ,but the others such as advfn,ii. It all helps .Maybe the May council elections will also be a turning point. EPL is a disgrace. There must also be a case to take them to court in terms of the unfairness of the tax which does not seem to stretch to other industries. There is also the reason as to why it was introduced in the first place. Do the reasons still stand???

It would be nice ,but they are nearly five times the size of Serica. Harbour are similar. I may be wrong, but we do not fall into a straight forward merger with north sea players. So it may end up as a simple takeover. Then again we could also be on the acquisition trail for smaller companies. I just hope/wish that they will now actively look overseas. Surely HMG could not have been more blatant with their rhetoric in terms of their distain for the UK oil and Gas industry.

I think we also must be approaching merger territory again. Due to the collapse in share price of most north sea oil and gas companies. Maybe hmg in a perverse sort of way would welcome this. As it would easier for them to manage a few companies as opposed to dozen companies.

It would still not surprise me if Neo backs out of the BP deal due to taxation and low prices. Serica could then end up with even a better deal.

I am still baffled as to why this has fallen so much. The only conclusion i can think of is the doubt over the second compressor . Re Triton. Other than that nothing has changed. If anything we now have more clarity re EPL.

As i posted earlier four years in a worse case scenario is not horrendous as some people seem to think. The market and broker analysis will take this into account a good eighteen months before the EPL ends.

Its not all bad re the EPL.

Most people are aware the shock market tends to look ahead for around eighteen months. So four years in terms of EPL removal is not that long if you factor this in . The market should start to price this into the share price during the next eighteen months or so . There is also a chance it could be removed before then if oil and gas remain low.

I think some posters are missing the positives of this report. In terms of clarity going forward. At least we now know where we stand in black and white.

The u.k Hmg have clearly stated their plans going forward.Obviously a shame in terms of short term investment in Serica,but for me i will hold as i believe they will diversify accordingly.

My view is Serica have already taken this into account. Maybe a fifty split going overseas or even a merger on the cards .

You never know neo could still back out. Probably coming up with some excuse after doing their due diligence. If so maybe Serica could end up with a better deal on the assets

What i don't understand is that they have new limits ninety dollars and ninety p per therm. If so the Epl should be removed in 2026???
