Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Forget about Beutong. For a long time Tony was really interested in KSK and used Beutong to get his hand on the concession.
See Tony smile. He knows now something else about KSK that tells him now he does not need Beutong. When he is ready he will probably drill those big holes and at some stage flock it for a very good price if the results are convincing.
I also suspect he will take a minority share in the Beruang Kanan district but he will want to be in control of the prospects that will follow.
The mineral resources has never been in question. Its (huge)potential has been known for over 3 decades.
So far , for one reason after another, no one has been able to go near it.
What is different nowadays for that to change anytime soon I wonder?
Good luck to all of us.
Blaming the Captain and crew for the lack of wind is looking at the wrong end of the telescope.
We have seen over the years one impediment after the other. Firstly logistic and extreme difficulty of access, then some Poor essays results. Then a litany of obstacles from Financial crisis, political crisis, ethnic riots, forest fire, mining legislation changes, forestry zoning changes, commodity price fluctuation, dubious board decisions, ecological constraints and the most repetitive of them , shortage of funds. There are more for sure.
If I needed to look for sign of improvement on the horizon I would have noticed that the recent small burst of wind was the result of the 2 recent company news. Both of them , in an indirect way , fair play and generous acts.
I know too well how it is unconceivable but this venture is still standing because of these and numerous similar kind of actions. Without them it would have gone without a trace long time ago.
Imo this continue to feed into the futur direction of the company.
Good luck with your choice.
Way back, during the earlier geological mapping activities ( may even being during the very first expedition) come a story .
It was reported that a member of the party was hit by a stone which came flying out of the woods. The jungle
people had just announced themselves. Instantly the guides advised to remain calm and not to retaliate. Instead they set out some tobacco and other goods in the jungle which were later found to have been removed. The guides explained that the stone was a question asking what was the visitors' intention and that the gifts laid out was an answer that the survey group were willing to share the result of their labor. The fact that the gifts were accepted was a sign of friendship and so all was well.
Nowadays the stones in the road are of a different nature ; if it is not too late (usually large investors do not take kindly at pushing rocks) maybe if the Company was to truly put into practice the social responsibility example of the miller's daughter or ARS's pioneers a way forward can be found.
Good luck to us all.

How can the world around us be ignored and hope to have a lasting success?
Investors are streaming out or jumping in by the bucket load it seems. What time is it I wonder? Time to get in or out?
Have we reached a kind of bottom of the cycle, running anti clockwise maybe or simply lost our bearing?
Until Tiger's move and Tony taking charge the Company was run by people who were inexperienced in mining affairs
but with a vision. Mansur defined it this way: "our exploration efforts and community efforts are one and the same"
This vision lead to many successes despite their lack of experience and opened a lot of doors. Benefits that are still felt today . However this lack in specialist knowledge became with time too much of an handicap.
Then a complete change of management and direction with a board very savvy in all matters of mining industry but putting all efforts on the technical and mental aspect of running the Company. Some may dispute that but I give you a example: ARS 2018 annual report Chairman's report ( go read it and spot what is missing)
So it seems possible to me that the former did not achieved their goal due to lack of the right kind of
brain power and the later are unable to achieve theirs for lack of heart.
Maybe Tony's team are worry that it is not kosher, that's not how a Company is run. That Shareholders and profit has to come first and only to share a few tokens with the other stakeholders. Well I would say , and you probably agree, we certainly live in strange time. So maybe this is the right time and right vehicule to be surprised.
Mansur'vision together with the Board collective expertise would be a formidable force in my view and may well be enabled to surmount everything that is throw on our way.
Strategy or no strategy Is that really ARS question ?
Past board with no mining background (except Mansur) managed to sign J/V with Moloppo then Cyprus then Oxiana and the latest was Freeport.
They managed to clock $55Mil in exploration expenditure while shares only numbered roughly 170Mil before
Tony made his move on KLG.
Now we have a plethora of mining experts on board and we are stuck in first gear. Figure that one out .
I suspect Tony probably thought KLG was easy picking and so did lot of investors .
Should anyone ever asked themselves what was the catch? I hear people saying about ARS
that good things comes to those who wait. I believe that will be true one day. However one should not forget that
" patience is not about how long one can wait but how well one is behaving while waiting "
All the best
... not just Jakarta that's sinking...
East Kal. choice is a set back no doubt about that. The majority of new Infrastructure development like roads rail shipping etc will now be concentrated in the Eastern part of the Island and we probably will have to rely on ourselves . It may be ok with BKM but what about the larger prospects?
Well well what do I know? I was really pining for palangkaraya & Central Kalimantan. I think It would have given a boost to ARS and help develop what is arguably the richest of the 5 Kalimantan regions. That was asking too much . Very disappointing really .

My money is on Palankaraya . What an opportunity to build a city of the future!
"I am doing this whether it's good or bad for your statement about, 'Oh, will we fall into a recession for two months?' The fact is, somebody had to take China on," Trump said.
Don't you be fooled. China may look tame but it is not a domesticated cat but a tiger. Feed him so as to keep it at bay knowing that you have to keep feeding it or there will be no rest.
The case of CNMM Co in DRC

Once Indonesia's new capital location is announced things will start moving very quickly. Shortly after unprecedented demand on all kind of goods and services and shortage of skilled trades people , technicians and labourers will create steep rise in costs.
Cause and effect or something else?
Sorry for being a wet blanket but the lack of progress is not due to copper price. Nor delay in receiving permits nor
lack of funds nor Kalimantan peat moss/forest fires nor racial tensions nor govt changing mining laws nor trade war neither
caused by the great financial or economic crisis , currency devaluation nor political upheaval ... all these and many more events experienced over the years are imo red herrings if used to justify the situation at that given moment in time.
But hey we are still in business right! Quite remarkable if you think about it. So what is really out there that keeps this
venture alive , yet will not yield.
I hope you will not think that I am dishonest here but I do not have the skills to formulate my view on what is taking place. To illustrate I will use Tony's video own words " We first have to crawl before we walk and walk before we run" I like to think
that Tony is aware there are very good reasons why one is crawling before walking and also knowing how to crawl does not guaranty that one day the baby will walk. Nope. The natural process of what needs to happen between crawling and walking is the building up of muscles and strengthening of bones structure.
Is Asiamet maturing in such way that when it will finally walk and then run its leg will not bow under the strain or its muscles too weak but for a few shorts steps?
Who can say what is buried out there although I can see on the video on the face of the BOD that like me they have a fair idea . I can only hope that they are preparing well and not underestimating their part of responsibilities . That is that the company will be ready to grab the opportunity to do great things that will be afforded and ensure that the wealth is not squandered .
Good luck all

(with some forestry answers)
In a way after three decades and more nothing has changed. Everything seems so near yet so far.
To think some people call for a takeover. In essence will that change anything I ask myself.
