It’s connected in the Times article and pretty much around the world. We are so paranoid with perfection we would rather use no test than one better than nothing
Around the world in China, Germany, Asia they have been use mass lateral flow tests that aren’t perfect, but what they do is find the majority of cases, allow isolation to start and reduce cases. Importantly it also allows society to go on.
In uk because we think we are so smart we will wait for the most perfect of tests but in the mean time economy drops, society falls apart and the wrong tests are done. Do you know how high the antigen lab based errors are? Very high, many lost, many problems but doing them is better than nothing.
If your not careful we end up with comments from people with limited experience of actually getting stuff done all for the sake of perfection
