I think that you'd need to factor in the "Trump effect" that could come into force in the coming days.

By that I mean that the end of the conflict in Ukraine would signal lower energy costs. Once they begin to have an effect it will lower build costs and improve purchasing power.

All this is contingent upon there actually being the effect that I'd anticipate. It could be a buy opportunity, but only as part of a balanced portfolio. All my opinion and will be looking forward to any change in direction in the coming days, if it happens.

I don't think that you can go far wrong at this price, although personally I think it better to buy once on the way back up.

I expect a wave of good feeling once the new president is sworn in (in the US).

The FTSE will no doubt get swept upwards once this happens. That suggests a good buying opportunity in the days leading up to this.

Donald Trump says he can end the Ukraine crisis within 24 hours (or so) of him coming to office on 20th January. If this happens, then it will certainly affect share prices. So for that reason, I'd be wary of taking out short positions on any otherwise steady looking companies in the coming weeks.

I'd also be wary of purchasing shares when the price is going down! Although, given the above, it is hard not to take notice of the potential here.

This is certainly good news: Chill retain the domain name, but I wonder who retains the book and film rights to the events? ;-) (They are the real winners: suspect the yanks get them!). Brad Pitt may have been dropped from the role of Callum Sommerton due to his age. Aaron Taylor-Johnson might be tied up with the James Bond franchise so might be replaced by Jonathan Rhys Meyers? :-)

That is a statement from back in July, I would add.

You have to view the extra £88 million cost against a net cash position of £584 million.

The UK government has shown over the weekend that it intends to support house builders and I believe that it will need to back this up with further action in the UK.

I'd expect further announcements in the coming days.

In Denmark there is a deposit and return system in place for both bottles and cans. This has a 93% return rate.

Fires caused by disposable vapes could be significantly reduced if retailers charged a deposit on the vape.

There would be a significant incentive to return the vape for recycling in that scenario.

Banning the sale of a legitimate product is just a cop-out.

If you are talking about the link to the UK Gov Office for Health Improvement & Disparities report, yes that is a bit out of date but you'll have to take that up with the UK government rather than the posters here I would have thought. I'm not familiar with the situation in the USA: perhaps someone can post an update. Everything else is somewhat subjective because there are a lot of overlapping issues to consider, I would have thought.

I received the £300 heating supplement last year. Although this was a nice surprise I have to agree with Keir Starmer and say that many people of pensionable age DO NOT substantially benefit from it. I am still working full time so there is enough in the pot for me to cover the increased energy bills. There are much more pensioners who have to embarrassingly apply for state support and the money would be better off going to them. I would even consider handing back the £300 from last year to the government if it meant that it went to the more needy in society.

Looks like "X marks the spot" for an impending update.

The various directors of this company have been taking out £100k+ per annum each ever since the days when it was HNR.

The bottom line is that the cost could be raised by investors and written off.

The crux of the matter is the ownership of the website.

It is very clear to me that the directors concerned have abused their positions and not acted in the best interests of the shareholders. This will likely result in a ban in them holding positions as directors, closure of their company and the assets being transferred back to Chill.

The critical issue is to prevent them from selling on the asset on to another party. Then they could liquidate their company and withdraw the money they have raised from the sale.

However, I doubt that they will be able to transfer ownership of the website, and more likely that the website ownership will be transferred back to Chill.

I think that it is time for you guys to get your day trading hats on.

Good inflation figures in the UK and suddenly things look a lot rosier.

Is this where we see the 20% rise in a day again?
