Maybe we should consider the dangers of having 230V of power coursing around our houses, when we could easily transform this down to 12V at the mains entry point. This is the dangerous element in our energy supply network. What are the government doing about it, anyone know?

Sorry, just to state this again, the FCA data published today only lists AHL as holding a 0.81% short position. Could someone advise where the 0.9% comes from if you have already checked the data yourself?

The 0.9% is the total short position, AHL is only 0.81% according to FCA data published today.

Just to clarify, the 0.81% short position was an increase of 0.11% on the previous position. Also, if they reduced their position yesterday, this may not appear until 3:30pm today.

According to the FCA, AHL hold a 0.81% short position taken out on 12/06/23.

According to the FCA "You should send your positions by 3.30pm on the trading day after the day the position was reached. All calculations should be made as at midnight on the trading day the position was reached."

So according to the FCA the 0.81% position must still be in place, unless there is an error on behalf of the FCA, or someone is not following the rules.

Any thoughts?

The transactions were delayed reports so the lower price could have been for a short position closing in the early morning or even the previous day. Similarly the other 2m transaction was a delayed report so could have been made during the day sometime, or the previous day. I think that likely it was AHL reducing their position for these reasons. It would make complete sense for them to do this given the likely recovery in the share price from here.

Looks like AHL may have drastically reduced their short position. However we may not learn anything of this due to changes in UK government requirements. They don't have to publicly disclose their positions anymore and can be up to 0.2% short before they have to notify the FCA.

So if the AHL short position drops to below 0.2% presumably they don't have to tell anyone?

Shore Capital issued a BUY recommendation when the price was in the 1400s back in February. So that would indicate almost a 100% rise on where we are today. It shows how difficult it is to predict short term share price movements.

The board have been considering the best way to return value to shareholders for some time now. This is a nice reward for long term holders of the stock.

It seems that the Employee Benefit Trust likes it at this price. Bought 5 times as many as the CEO. Come on fella, dig deep.
