Boltonwigley, personally I think the key factor causing the most recent decline is your item 3 - the IHT relief cut. Many of these holdings are held in dedicated IHT portfolio under the control of wealth managers more than individual holders, so it is they giving the sell orders and, in my experience, if these institutional actors know they need to get out, they don't dawdle. Besides, one wouldn't want to wait till the weeks leading up to March 2026, when there may be additional downward pressure.
A final thought adding to the negativity I'm afraid, is that with this budget they've opened the door on cutting IHT refief for AIM and I strongly suspect it'll be hard to resist the temptation to finish the job. Don't know when of course, it could be after this parliament, but it will surely happen imv.
