I didn't stay away! I bought on Wednesday, budget day (although it's been on my watchlist since the big drop in early September). I was trying to take advantage of that rise on AIM following the better-than-feared news in the budget... which didn't work out too well for me once the dust had settled... but then I'm not a clever investor, far from it sadly!

Previously pensions and SIPPs were outside your estate for IHT purposes, but with this budget they're bringing it in. Thus, while ISAs and SIPPs have income and CGT benefits for the holders, they have no IHT benefits for your descendants - it all falls within yr estate now.

"You can still have £1mil in aim completely free of IHT which is plenty". Sadly not. Factually incorrect. You may be confusing it with IHT relief on the first £1m of the value of a business... there is no IHT relief threshold whatsoever on AIM shares.

Whereas previously your estate would receive 100% relief on a potential 40% IHT liability, it is now a 50% relief, so an effective IHT rate of 20%.

Circular?

Yeah, it tells you something when a 'cluster buy' of 700k+ shares by members of the BOD has no effect whatsoever on the sp.

And more pain today. The Results in no way justify this drop. Not long to find out what Reeves intentions re CGT and whether she'll take aim at AIM additionally. I have a lot of AIM stocks. It's been an unpleasant month for sure.

They certainly wouldn't be the 1st company to ditch their LTIP in 2024...

Looking at the share price I can't help but feel that an LTIP for beleaguered shareholders is what's really required!

Thinking about it overnight, I do wonder exactly what Ashley's up to. He wants to take control of Boohoo via a 'management coup'. Boohoo have a point that a conflict of interest may then exist. Would Ashley run Boohoo for the benefit of Boohoo shareholders or for the benefit of Frasers? Is Ashley's game basically trying to get control of Boohoo 'on the cheap'? I mean without having to go to the inconvenience and expense of actually making an honest bid for the company? A bid would be the cleanest route and would align his interests with ours, but instead we get all this hypocritical 'supportive shareholder' malarkey from Frasers. Does anyone really believe that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there's a shake-up rather than the endless stagnation and slow decline, but we should be careful what we wish for. The muted sp reaction tells us something , not that we small shareholders have any control or influence over the matter.

By way of explanation, 01234 is a troll. Trolls various people on the Verici board. That's why his below comment makes no sense because it was a comment I made about Verici, which he thought would be funny to copy and paste here. Bit weird, but, you know, it's the wild west on these boards.

If this gets to an AGM, I'm imagining the entire retail investor community are going to vote for change. Decisions will need to be taken to comply with any vote. Perhaps not 'impactful' today, but the fuse has been lit.

I'm up for any of this. For better or for worse, we need a resolution so we can finally move on. Speaking for myself, i've had an unprofitable aversion to selling these shares, so if this gets things moving and forces my hand, all good.

The Frasers letter wasn't clear on it. No need to be a smart-alec Hexam, SONIA + 4 % = 8.95% currently. V expensive indeed.
