I guess its a bit like sporting competitions - sometimes lacklustre performance, bad luck on the other teams part, mitigating circumstances etc, but people forget that and only judge you on your triumphs, not how you got there.

PS l am not defending the BoD but trying for others to see a different perspective.

Perhaps whilst we have seen capitulation in terms of dilution, perhaps they don’t quite see matters as we do and so deals have been done (bad ones) at any cost to get to the finish line and seen (hopefully) the goose that lays the golden egg!

Between GM and Satu )as a couple) they will continue to take circa £300,000 pa plus supposed milestone bonuses up to retirement l guess, so yea deals are very important albeit little in the way of direct shareholdings. Perhaps the lack of direct equity profitability is made up by this?
Additionally and just speculating, if a 401 or 201 or indeed 301 deal is cemented, perhaps they may be offered share options?
I think being scientists and less of being capitalists, it is the science fame that they want to show as a legacy.
Just my own thoughts of course as l know many academics that are not in it for the money.
