I think comparing ASOS to Carillion is tad sensationalist. Yes, there's plenty more doom and gloom to come. Don't let emotion affect your decisions here. Better to hold for the long term and average down if you believe in the business. If not, just sit tight and wait, do nothing. I don't think it's going to zero.

Appreciate it's hard to deal with seeing your whole portfolio down. Same situation here. We just have to treat it as 'everything is on sale!' as opposed to 'oh ****, I have to get out'.

Yeah, my whole watch list is a sea of red... shrugs... getting used to this now.

Thanks Theborn, doesn't really provide an awful lot of insight, but I'll be interested to see half year results as I feel like the company is finally getting back on track after all the drama with the FCA and home credit. They are right that a lot of downward pressure on SP at the moment is Macro related. I would think the sector PFG occupy would do well in times of growing economic strife, with people struggling to get by and requiring credit. Pretty grim reality, but this is the business they deal in.

RevB is a speculative growth stock as the company hasn't turned a profit yet. If you can't cope with market volatility you maybe need to re-think being invested. This is a likely a 5 year time horizon or so for good gains. There's of course always a chance the business doesn't succeed, but I think it looks solid.

Thanks, RyanF. Can often be hard to know what moves to make! Currently I'm leaning towards 'do nothing' being the best strategy, whilst continuing to drip feed an all market global ETF, a Battery Index Fund and occasionally topping up here. Managing the FUD is the difficult bit.

I've also got my eye on Games Workshop if it drops low enough for me to get meaningful volume as their product has a real moat and massive IP.

RyanF, I was actually looking at energy ETFs and Exxon recently beacuse I still think it's s strong growth sector for the next year or two, at least. Energy issues aren't going away fast.

I would actually want to pivot the other way current, i.e. out of retail and into Energy. But very nice gains on a covid purchase! Always good to have an exit strategy!

Only comfort I can take in this is that the SP is remaining relatively steady presently.

I'm going to drop Elon Musk a message later, he loves fast fashion and is keen to buy ASOS.

If you believe in the company / stock, why not drip feed into it over 12 months? If I had spare cash I'd probably got for some kind of fossil fuels energy ETF / index fund in the short term.

JPMorgan cuts Asos to 'neutral' (overweight) - price target 1,500 (2,900) pence.

Conversely:

-Ukraine far from over
-Rampant inflation and consumers tightening spending
-Compressed margins
-Global supply chain issues not yet resolved.

Yes, it's all transient, but I think it's perhaps longer term than we all expect.

Anyone thinking this is going to be a quick recovery to the SP is fooling themselves. Going to be a long haul back to anything resembling an SP above £15.

Nice to see these buys, gives me some long term confidence after suffering with the rest of you on some big losses. Going to take time, but happy to hold.

Not great news for the sector, but one less competitor for RevB. I think the telling thing is at the end of the article, that they were slow to adapt their product line and long lead in time, which is the opposite of the model being used by RevB.

Things usually bounce after an extreme drop like this. Let's see what tomorrow looks like. And yes, I agree, only option now is to hold for the longer term and try ignore the noise and the big loss sitting on my portfolio.
