Anyone got an opinion on sell into hype vs sell on day of IPO. Are we likely to see another big leg for SMT up when SpaceX IPOs. We are touching all time highs and I'm tempted to lock in some profit. Struggling to decide if I do this now or wait for the IPO.

Much like many of you, I was buying around the £6-8 mark a few years back. Getting kinda tempted to take some profit, but I expect it'll be worth waiting for the Space X IPO for a final spike up. We are approaching all time highs again, so I'm minded to maybe take some money off the table.

What are others thinking?

Don't want to jinx it, but we appear to have smashed the £10 resistance quite convincingly now, despite all the volatility with Trump 2.0. Holding. May begin look at a stop loss to protect gains though.

It's held above £10, I'm pretty damn happy with that.

It's always worth remembering why you bought the fund, and for me that was the broad exposure to a lot of companies both public and private for a P/E of 10 (lower when I bought in).

Well, looks like it's going to be a wild ride this week. It will be depressing if this drops below the £10 mark, but it does often move in tandem with NVDA. Am remaining calm, I'm sure all this will pass. Opinions on how significant the impact of Deepseek is on the US tech/AI growth story welcome.

I think, if we waited this long for it to turn around, we may as well wait a bit longer. Remember all the negative media and board members badmouthing the trust? Seems like a distant memory now.

I think it has further to rise. I'd maybe set a stop loss, then if it drops again, you get roughly your exit price.

I'm 44% up now and also slightly tempted to take that, but with the macro picture looking okay and some of the private holdings (Space X) in excellent positions, I'm tempted to hold because I can't really get this exposure elsewhere.

FINALLY! Remember buying under £7 consistently... nice to see it hit £10. Hope it can hold this level.

The private holdings are why I own SMT. I think long term it'll pay off.

I don't have a crystal ball, but the slow creep towards £10 seems to be on. Would be very happy if we broke £10. SMT has been a long term hold for me and has paid off fairly nicely so far. Bought in the doldrums and it's now beginning to recover.

That spread is BRUTAL. I'd steer well clear.

There's won't be a share split. Come on.

But I do think it can hit £10 by year end.

Ouch. Hadn't checked back after selling out at 28p in Oct 2023. Everyone told me I was nuts, so glad I got out. Took a small loss and vowed to leave AIM shares alone. That has worked out well for me.

Amusingly, SMT seems to be just mirroring the NVDA chart for the past few days.

Tasty discount. Not buying above my average though.

No real worries, just an overdue correction of the Mag 7.
