Welcome Blackhair, some good solidarity on the board here! Tbh, discussion has (mostly) been really balanced and constructive. Many of us in the same boat.
Something I'd like to ask, when people wax lyrical about MMs manipulating a share, how is this is achieved. So with low willingness to sell into the market, we get a larger spread?
I think 'MM's suppressing the share' is often used to as a catchall to justify sp movements people don't like. I'm not saying that's the narrative here, but how often does it actually hold true vs organic market forces? Just curious as still fairly new to trading.
Everything has gone very quiet, so I'm tending towards... 'yes'. That's my best guess though.
Managed to bed and ISA my holding today. All set.
Yup, flat as a pancake today. Bets on an RNS on the 'compromise' before the end of the week?
Nice. Thanks for that Silver. Is there a good source for daily volumes that isn't behind a paywall?
I was going to mention, I know the buys and sells on here are a guesstimate at best, but looks like healthy volume today, so perhaps something is brewing? I think we'll get news before the end of the week.
Chumba, you can get a very solid return on a safe money market fund like CSH2 (Lyxor Smart Overnight Return), used to be uselessly flat, but with rising interest rates now has a fairly attractive return.
If you can stomach some risk, some corporate bonds offer up to 10%. I'm currently in a mix of equity and fixed income. Still more on the side of equity. But I took a chunk of CSH2 as a stable earner.
LOL
18,098 shares. Voted against all resolutions. (Feeling like a minnow here. LOL).
Brave man Silver, I hope it pays off. I'm not taking any more beyond my existing holding. At least we should have more clarity soon if the RNS is to be believed.
Looks like some stronger buying this morning, SP edging up marginally.
the sp could definitely use a good kick up the ****. depressing.
The vote is BACK on HL.com, and I should mention it hadn't remembered my previous vote. The voting form has been amended to reflect the board recommendation of 'Against'. If with HL ensure you go back in and submit your vote!
Might be something, might be nothing at all, but the voting for the OGM seems to have been pulled on the HL site. I had submitted my vote, and it typically stays live to allow you to amend. It's gone, nothing. Unless it's been pulled down to allow them to ament the 'FOR' recommendation. But, given all the news today, perhaps a compromise has been reached. Anyone else seeing something similar on their trading platform?
Seems thing are going to get real interesting in the next few days. I'd be sad to see Bob go, but I'd also like stability and a SP that's moving upwards.
It's clearly the wild wild west out there:
"Mr Holt's scalp would be one of the key elements of a peace agreement"
Let's face it, it would be good for both companies to be able to focus back on their own issues and partner for future gains. Personally, hoping for a compromise.
I think if I was a new investor here I'd want clarity on the boohoo situation first and perhaps another set of numbers. If you didn't get in pre suspension at those lower levels, I'd understand why it wasn't immediately attractive even though there's value here in future. Still some significant risk attached.
Thanks for the kind words Rocket, I must admit I had similar thoughts today when the share price started to go into reverse. My average isn't as low as some of you here, so just trying to keep a steady nerve and hold until it looks too dicey. Nice to see some more consolatory language in the RNS, gives me hope we may get through this little spat with the SP and indeed the company intact.
