6.5% up on no news and lots of selling. I smell a feeesh. Any ideas anyone?

This board looks more and more just a forum to talk up shares without any basis in evidence ! Thus it always was. Very few people here have a clue what they are talking about.

A very interesting post up to the point when you say '...whom had unblemished records'. Of course what you should have said is '..who had unblemished records'. Records, indeed, quite unlike your own following that schoolboy error. As a consequence, the whole of your post is discredited as utter nonsense. Which, coincidentally, is what I was already been thinking well before I got to Paragraph 2.

The tide can go out as well as come in and you may not get back all you invested. @sclt, I would put that holiday on hold if I were you. Blind optimism as like a tell on these boards. As soon as it hoves into view, SP's start to fall. It's a fact of life. Just like them tides. Luckily (or, as I like to think, skilfully) my average is about £1.40 so I'm quite happy to watch the tide for a bit. Smile. It's the weekend.

Steady alright. But mostly slow. A cash generator with no debt and a positive outlook going forward. And the price drops. And upward resistance strong. It's a bit strange. It is a pretty squalid type of business, though that has never really bothered investors much before. I've watched it for a while on late night TV, just to see what the fuss is about and it is mindless beyond compare. Roulette on the TV? Perlease where is the fun in that?! Regulatory pressure is the only other negative thing I can think of.

I've always been pretty dodgy with banks as well. I should have done better. Anyway, I spun a coin last month and Lloyds lost so I put a modest 4 figure sum into GLI Finance for the reliable 10% yield. Blow me down if it didn't suddenly rocket in price. Still reckon they are worth a look. There is a lot going on with them at the moment, all good. Glad to be in BBY as well.

On SVS I can only sell a max of 1000 shares and the price is dead on 95p. Big spread too. I smell poo.

You are of course correct in what you say and no I have not sold RSA today and bought Aviva. In fact with divs, I'm still just a tad up on the RSA deal so I'm not exactly suicidal about the whole thing. It is, however, tempting to sell out of a share which has hardly set my pulse racing since I bought it, in a general environment which has been altogether more exciting (and profitable) in 2013. So for the moment I will cling on and see what the BoD response is over the next few weeks. But I do think there are probably wiser places to put my money.

I bought both within a month of each other last year. Since then, Aviva has gained 35% and RSA has dropped 2%. Testicles must roll and this shouldn't be limited to a few Irish scapegoats. There are certainly a number of people who continue to draw very nice salaries despite their manifest incompetence. The BoD are accountable and should be held so. I don't even think they are a good punt now, contrary to some opinions expressed here. There are other defensives (all of them?) which have performed better.

Have rated this a buy and put a crazy price of 232 on it. Do they know something we don't? I'm not in but it is on my watch list. Not very far up it, but on it.

I'm getting out of this pile of kak today so if history tells us anything, there should be a decent surge in the SP.

This may be a future winner but right now the price is static and there ar no imminent good reasons to think it will go up by much. Your strong buy suggestion is, I suspect, based on emotion rather than fact and the share is at best a hold. And only just. I do still have a small holding but most have now been cashed and the money used to earn a little elsewhere. The remainder will go soon. I'll come back maybe if and when they show signs of life or a worthwhile dividend.

3% drop on almost no activity.

Phe...just imagine how much the SP would have fallen if weren't for all the recent upgrades. On the other hand, it's somehow comforting to know that the so-called experts have no more of a clue than the rest of us.
