However, assuming you can find somebody to lend you their shares, you will then sell them straight away… Which we clearly not seeing either because the pressures is on the buy side - I guess!
But things can turn quickly, and personally speaking I’m happy to be in and to stay in and to ride this all the way up!

Looks like pictet knew the writing was on the wall... and I guess easier to exit given thief relatively late short position... however the others have far greater headway before needing to even break sweat...
Pictet reduction is telling imo... they shorted around £1.14 I think... and were once making a killing... but at the current price they are close to making a loss!
I’m guessing they are feeling the squeeze now... and fingers crossed others will follow... on c10 million lent shares to buy back - hope they are sleeping well at night ;-)
Disappointed to only be at number 42 on the list! I’m happy to ramp all day long… In my opinion this stock has the potential to be dynamite, and things getting interesting as expected... hoping for a nice Christmas present :-)
Interesting reports in the media that PNC will buy the American part of BBVA and create the 5th largest US bank. BBVA is also in talks to merge with Sabadell, who of course not that long ago bought TSB…
Wonder what lies ahead post Brexit for uk banking scene????
We have the capital / savings balances to be able to absorb ~2bln of mortgages... it’s the premium we’d have to pay that’s the issue... go look for example what Lbg’s premium was to Tesco purchase...
Nobody thought rbs could buy NatWest...
So it’s all possible, but competition for the mortgage book will be fearce and Our boys will probably be priced out... but who knows ;-)
