The rather large MHRA logo at the bottom of the biosure page might be significant in this regard.

Did you look at the biosure website that shows both the tests ?

The biosure video says to read it after 10-mins, the biosure video for the RTC is a 20 min test, the biosure one uses a barrel test that they previously used from their 6 year old HIV test, the RTC one uses a cassette, the biosure site says their test has sensitivity of 98.3% and specificity of at least 99.7%, whereas it says "The AbC-19 test is proven to be 97.6% sensitive and has a clinical specificity of 99.6%. "

Its worth noting that not one "serious long term investor" (i.e. the ones that are only ever happy clappers) has any commentary or analysis on ABDX's RNS today in relation to the impact or inference it has for ODX, the the ability for the CEO to accurately assess the UK market or the ABC self-test approval issues.

Clearly off-topic wanderlust of retirement is much more important today.

Unfortunately, the antibody testing realm goes from bad to worse.
1) A £124M lab based contract. Most here had hope at one time that, naturally the ABC test, being as it was backed by uk gov, would be the first one to get a significant gov contract.
2) ABDX announcing that they have completed TT for the biosure antibody contract. So now we have the lead partner, who has sole responsibility for garnering sales of the RTC antibody test, now manufacturing another LFT antibody test, and if they get sales of it, they have no requirement to hand 25% of sales to ODX.
3) Unbelievably, the biosure antibody lft has full home-use approval. Whilst the RTC product has been waiting for literally just about a year now for such approval.

4) Is Colin really aware of why the RTC product has been refused MHRA approval. As a reminder during the presentation he said:-

"basically, within the UK the DHSC did receive a derogation from the MHRA for the use of the 1M tests. Within the UK in terms of covid tests, you can only get self-test approval if there is DHSC demand, and clearly they currently view
antibody testing as not a requirement hence why we have not been able to get the full sign off on home testing."

Would appear while the CEO was saying those words, the biosure test was being considered by MHRA for self-test approval. Does this mean the DHSC now see a requirement ? If not was the above reasoning wrong ? If it does see a requirement, does the fact that the ABC test has been sitting for around a year waiting on such approval, complete with a usability study done by Tara Moore, mean that this test is now considered a poisoned chalice by HMG, and it is in a continuous state of being snubbed. ?

Yes, CK has previously said that his expectations for the UK market are low for the RTC product given the state of vaccination, but that would seem to be at odds with the DHSC now seeing a requirement to bestow selftest status on another test. And ABDX deciding to take on another antibody test, is a really bad conflict of interest, as ODX can not get independent sales for the RTC product.

Dunno why we are talking about Junior miners on the ODX thread, it's tota lly irrelevant to ODX, but for the ones that make it, there are many many junior miners that never get as far as pulling a tonne of ore from the ground.

Junior miners are speculative bets, we were a "we'll deliver 2M lft per week in April" company.

That's what I said, otherwise it would be 2022 before a non-visitect test could be sold (the Mologic one took 4 months).
I said end of Sept or into Oct at the earliest.

If self-test approval is a prerequisite for selection by HMG, then it becomes a guessing match as to which of two options is the best outcome for ODX.

1) Visitect gets home use approval, hope it gets selected as HMG test, then ODX can produce right away, NO TT. The self-test trial is still soliciting for participants, so that looks like a few weeks at the earliest before it's signed off. If after approval it DOES get selected, then its their own test that is the HMG test, a small royalty payable to Mologic as the underlying inventor of the original test. but possibly get a royalty in return if other manufacturers come on board.

2) HMG announces it has selected XYZ test as the selected test ASAP, say Monday. Assuming ODX can come to commercial terms with the owner of the test, the TT process begins. ODX has done some preliminary work with all the potential candidates so they know they can TT any of those. TT will still take some time, pick whatever number of weeks that makes you feel happy, but who knows. We are told it won't be as long as it took to TT the mologic test (approx 4 months) as the TT process does not also involve taking a new test and scaling up to production levels, the candidates are already at production level. Then ODX can make the test, being a 3rd party test will have to pay a royalty. ODX also continues to proceed with home testing qualification for the visitect test.

Hardly to know which of those gets ODX supplying tests to HMG the quickest, doesn't look like much in it to me. I suggest at the earliest it is end of Sept or into Oct.

Okehurst1 CK was asked about expanding beyond 2M twice in the Q&A

Q77 Bidstats showed that the gov hired (I believe Toshiba) to help expand capacity for GAD and ODX. Are we expecting to expand capacity to more than 2 million a week?
As part of the support provided by DHSC to install their equipment, Toyota improvement engineers worked with our teams on this part of the project . We have built up our own capacity and have been working closely with the DHSC to increase capacity using the equipment loaned to us by them. Our focus will be on the 2m tests a week capacity that we expect to have in place when we know which test we will be producing for the UK Government.

Q191: Is there any plans to increase capacity beyond 2m per week ?
The focus at this stage is on utilizing 2m tests per week capacity once we have that on stream with manufacturing for the UK Government.

When 94% of the population have antibodies, a yes/no test that says yes tells you virtually nothing. The person has some antibodies...thats all it says. Do they have them from a vaccine, do they have a lot, have they had covid and not known it...it doesn't tell you anything.

CK himself has said that the immediate targets are countries that have not rolled out mass vaccination, as a +ve result in those situations indicates previous infection, and therefore vaccine can be better targeted.

But perhaps his antibody knowledge displays his top plonker status ?

Not just test, whose data might be skewed a bit depending on how many tests being done etc, but hospitalisations are run around x2 per capita too.

A quick look at the usability test that she did for the RTC, shows that sampling occured over just a few days in the uni car park.

However there are various preconditions for this test compared to that one, not least that you have had a recent +ve PCR test. Also this one is actually being done at the participants home, with the tests being posted back.

So I am guessing this isn't something that will be signed off done and dusted in a couple of weeks.

Is self-test approval a pre-requiite for being selected for the HMG test, I don't recall that being the case ?

Some relevant questions
1) Whats the cut-off date for being a participant ? (This alone will give us some indication of a minimum timeline)
2) How long will it then take to analysis the data and produce results
3) What happens if the results don't hit expectations
4) Is this the only outstanding regulatory and testing process for self-test status to be achieved ?
