About two-thirds of all the tests recorded in England in the most recent set of figures were the new, rapid turnaround tests.

These are not a replacement for the slower, more accurate PCR tests that are used to check whether your symptoms are really Covid.

They’re being used to sniff out cases in places where outbreaks might occur: testing people without symptoms and screening pupils going back to school.

But they’re not sniffing out very many cases at the moment. In England overall, roughly one-in-400 of the 2.2 million lateral flow tests recorded in the week to 24 February were positive.

And in educational settings, that figure was roughly one-in-1,000 of the nearly one million tests carried out.

Given that more than one-in-1,000 tests will give a false positive by chance, it means that if you get a one-off positive, it could just as easily be a blip as a case of Covid.

NDA is always the thing that is rolled out when people have no rational explanation for argue against what is known in public. I recall many saying that the RTC had received MHRA approval but it was being held back from being made public. I recall NDA being used to say that ODX has all these orders for antibody LFT but can't announce them.

When there is no other option, cite a super secret thingy that cannot be disproved. Or just take the obvious explanation, that TT has not completed from some reason, especially when their own PR company has said "no estimation of when the TT WILL conclude" no more recently than today, and the company has they will keep shareholders up to date on TT.

Actually my post indicates the wider acceptability of LFT beyond simple surveillance. And of course leaving aside the fact that the test provider I linked to as demonstration is a limited company and not listed on any stock exchange and therefore has no shares to ramp, you make you usual swath of valid points.

Don't know when it changed, my understanding was you had to have a PCR before you returned to the uk, but now you can take an LFT provided it is one of the correct standard. You need a printout or email confirming the result

Even handier, heres a company that'll give you an LFT to take with you, that you use prior to return via video link. I'm guessing they then confirm the result via email.

Because anyone in such a position NEEDS the SP to rise just to get their money back, and human nature being as it is, there will be a tendency either subliminal or deliberate to enhanced perceived positives and diminished perceived negatives.

Judging by the figures on this thread, it appears a lot were sucked in at various times by the usual ramp mongers and are now locked into ODX as a result, which of course was the point of the rampers, and some now have in turn become rampers as they need to SP to go up just to breakeven, and so the cycle continues.

Postings on this forum do not affect on the overall SP, but they can have an effect on those that inhabit here.

With the PR company saying no estimation of when the TT WILL conclude, that kills the silly ramp stone dead that the TT has already been concluded and just not advised anyone.

Unless an RNS tomorrow, we are heading into week 14 of the super quick ready-for-Christmas TT. I have joked a while back that it's more like Easter time, but that's looking a little less of a joke now.

Its UK gov order for the antibody test
Its CE for the visitect test
Its MHRA for the antibody test
Its CE for mologic for its tests
Its the launch of a mass vaccination programme
Its unshackling day for the RTC test (15th feb).

All the above, have been and gone, or are now no longer talked about on here.

TT completion for the mogolic test to ODX. that was a christmas present, then most thought Jan, some said it was bleeding obvious that it was Feb. ...still waitng for this golden news.

Not all that great to be honest, let me help you out.

ODX isn't front and centre, it's playing catch up. Innova, a us registered business has supplied multiple £1B of tests to uk gov. Surescreen, a uk company is actually supplying to UK gov, and has a contract for £500M. ODX has been selected by UK gov to provide manufacturing capacity, but has no announced contract to actually produce anything. UK gov has loaned ODX equipment, ODX has said via twitter that it will be 'delivering' 2M tests a week by end of April, but of note, it has made no such statement to the UK stock market, a rather curious position to say the least ('oh, sorry that twitter was a bit eager' is an easy get out clause).

ODX does not have ANY antigen LFT that it can manufacture, is waiting for the uk gov to tell it which test to make, and unless it happens to be a test it is currently working on figuring out how to manufacture (into the 13th week of a 4-6 week TT 1), it could be the start of June before they can supply 1 test to UK gov.

Oh, ODX has no announced orders whatsoever for ANY LFT devices, including the two antibody tests it actually can produce.

watch out, you'll get the usual replies from the usual suspects that its a ticking bomb, coiled spring, wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend etc. Those have been the default responses for many many months.

the truth is the SP has traded around this level for several months, dropped a bit lower for while, been a bit higher. And all during that it's been proported as being "ready to take off". So come into this thread with a large serving of salt.

When you cant't argue the facts, call people names.
