Wrong Truth person Ethio lol - that was me - you couldn't make it up
@mornington - bitter, no, negative on the long term outlook for ESL yes, see this as a trading opportunity up and down yes, am in profit from the short I opened yesterday at 13.96p yes - and yes I have made more money today than all those who held from yesterday who are currently down 9%. In addition have sold all my holdings on the rise last night in USA and this morning and am now all cash waiting for further CV developments
@lcartz - I expect we won't be hearing too much from you until tomorrow
based upon the share price being down 9% - apparently yes because it won't be happening anytime soon
Reduced fuel costs - actually no - all haulage contracts have fuel mechanisims that move up and down with the price of diesel, the exception being spot quote work which makes up less than 5% of the haulage ESL does - so if fuel goes up they are protected and the same if fuel goers down
Agree Truthfactory - it was very charitable for DBAY to state they would allow private shareholders to share in the ESL growth journey by considering an equity raise by end of May - code for we have put in what we can to safeguard our position and put the PIK in to suck the value out - now would you put some cash in so we can dilute you.
It's definitely going down Arsenal - I think the markets will turn this afternoon as well after the all time record day yesterday in USA which may speed things up. My short opened yesterday at 13.96p is nicely in profit so the kids can have some value beans this evening lol Not sure if it will go below 10p today though
So far down about 8% today so far - wonder what happened to the gap up predictions ?
@stocksbof52 - you are looking at a holding in STOB and not ESL lol
Hi Mark, seems like the FT article doesn't mention anything I wasn't aware of but thanks for sharing
LOL - wrong company - you could not make it up
Hi Mark, the logistics sector in the UK is fragmented as it is in Europe and there have been and will continue to be acquisitions as a result. Not sure who will be next, but agree the sector is acquisition rich. I thought at the time the drop was prompted by the concerns about debt and the balance sheet, before the black hole was revealed, but it may also have been linked to leaks about the black hole itself. ESL is in a better position than before, but the share price of 71p would not have been 71p if the truth had been known, so it is not a like for like comparison. Also, there is now only 49% of the equity here as opposed to 100% before. So you could argue 71p should have been 35.5p which should be 17.75p - but that's a very rough and not detailed assumption. I couldn't access the FT article sadly.
Hi Sam, that did make me laugh - ESL may go up today and it may go down today, but the only thing that is certain is that there will be no RNS at 07:00 about a bid - that I can absolutely guarantee you - so hope your dream was good because that's as close as you are going to get today ! See you at 16:30 !
I appreciate the alternative views as well Sam, it’s how I learn and for sure I am not always right lol - ESL might go up tomorrow, or down or stay the same - given ESL volatility and market volatility many factors at play
Good luck Mark, you have knowledge of the industry so respect your alternative view.
Hi Sam, the range is 7-15p I think - I sold at 12p and still happy with that as only expected 6p. Slight retrace tomorrow and then it will be a pivot point I think.
12.5p Sam
Evening Spurs, I was not trying to scare anyone off, just laying out the facts and some of my knowledge so people are informed. My range forecast of 7-15p is intact and the short i opened at 13.96p is at break even so all is good with the world. Let’s see what tomorrow brings !
I'm not invested here - but have been in the past. Was very tempted to buy in this morning on the basis of the vote going through but decided against it - reason being if I was a LTH with an average over 30p I would probably vote no. Not everyone will be happy with tomorrow's outcome, but I wish you all well regardless of the outcome. Definitely think this has been badly handled and the offer is too low, on the other hand the situation is dire.
I think the dividend is secure - otherwise Tulloch is toast, as a progressive dividend was repeated time and time again. So I think this is a good entry point - my average is 3.50 and will be looking to top up this week if it goes below 340p. As long as we don't get wiped out - life wise - by CV then all should be good lol - I consider this to be the safe part of my portfolio - gla
@RRR - Thanks, agree things can spike hence why I set so high - I opened at 13p on the sell at £250 per 1p move equivalent
