@Shatner - my stop on my short is at 26p so you need to make some bigger buys to auto close me out
@Stocksbof52 - why have you re-posted that post 3 or 4 times in the last 24 hours - do you have a problem with your PC ?
No i genuinely meant it
@Rebs348 - many thanks for your support
@bouncer - No I am not the other two and don't even know who they are - so please don't say something that is not true
@Jarv55 - I Have explained this to about 4 posters on ESL so far - the brand is owned by STOB ie the Stobart Group and not by ESL ! They are separate companies and I am sure you know all this so not sure why you are saying that ESL own the brand when they don't ?!
Gerry65 already explained this in the last hour and kindly posted a link which I enclose
https://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/news/AN_1519630617908592900/press-eddie-stobart-mulls-fleet-rebranding-over-cost-of-name-rights.aspx
13p close I think
@Jarv55 - yes and in the interview last week he explained that their decision in November was based around the discovery that there was an immediate liquidity issues ie that they would have to pump cash in immediately if they bought ESL out
@Bladderman - well my short is in profit still so I will keep it open I think as nothing has changed
@Jarv55 - your link was from November 2019 - I was referencing the James Wroath interview from last week
@Mookster - The brand is owned by STOB ie the Stobart Group and this is ESL - two different companies - ie ESL do not own the Stobart brand
For the sake of transparency, I sold my £5k stake last week - had to sell in 6 lots. My reason being I was going mainly to cash given the CV issues and think funding will be harder to finalise given the lack of clarity on CV. I think therefore will be an equity placement which may dilute materially and therefore I would rather risk being out rather than in, even if I lose out by doing so. I do think there is value here and I hope for all LTH's I am wrong and sincerely wish you all the best. I will keep an eye out here and will have no hesitation in investing when there is more clarity. If it had not been for the CV issue I would have stayed in and taken the risk.
Imminently - as of now ? Actually my short just went into profit so quite relaxed as of 12:46pm today
@ Jarv55 - you mus mistake me for someone else I think ? I have never shorted the two stocks you mention and there is no post from me on either of those boards or on any other board mentioning those shares.
Er no I am not GaryN so please withdraw that remark
LOL Bladey - see my post at 11:47 - as I said last night 15p range and then retrace
Just took a short position at 13.96p to sell
Thanks Theo, went mainly to cash last week and may go back to cash if carnage accelerates, but medium to long term there are some opportunities based upon today's position in the market. I'm not certain I would value Metro at £6 to £10 but then again it is worth more then $1.57 lol and I do think that an overseas institution with deeper pockets and a desire to enter the UK market will eventually come forward with a bid
Having sold out last week at 191p I bought back in just now for £6k at £1.576 - avoided the 17% drop and will look to top up further if it goes below £1.40 - which is probably and hopefully unlikely ! GLA
And whats your theory on why Tinkler sold Stocksbof52 ? He just bagged £20m from his sale of shares in Stobart Group in January so don't think he needed the £2.5m from selling ESL last week - or is he just a fool - who got lucky and is worth more than £20m ?
