The only way we can have an out of court settlement is perhaps if we reduce our exposure of 40% in DOBA fields down to like 20% and giving chad or perenco 20% or perhaps selling our entire interest in the Doba oil field entirely but as a condition we retain our 30% interest in the pipeline network with approval and a couple of board seats on cotco think this is more of a likely outcome.

I slightly disagree hear and don’t believe it’s as clear as that the whole intention is to freeze savannah out of the cotco holding entirely they wanted savannah to not have a board sit so they can than ask the banks to freeze their share of dividends from the asset. Until the company don’t confirm what the state of play is as it stands it’s safe to assume that there is more going on and they are probably awaiting legal advice on what it means for them in reality and probably exploring avenues for challenge.

Rocky ride - I wonder if the recent Costco situation could affect the the admission document. If we lost control or our shareholding and are not due to benefit from its revenues than they might need to leave it out from the admission document.

Agadem / rocky ride - so good to have you back mate missed you. Just having your presence in the background sometimes serves as a calm soothing effect amongst all the noise / news that circulates and your relationship with the company and IR has been truly remarkable to say the least no one has built that relationship with the company and even I struggle to sometimes get response from them. I must say like me a lot of people appreciate your updates when we are in a period of no official news so I hope if and when possible you keep that up.

As for all things savannah at the moment i hope that South Sudan closes and we close another acquisition of similar or greater size to chad which should neutralise the effects of the chad dispute until it’s sorted at tribunal. Not to forget the growth to come from the an accurate assets and Niger. We are now 3 weeks basically away from the new deadline of 28th July remains to be seen if we successfully meet it with South Sudan deal closure or whether we get a further extension. But surely the can cannot be kicked down the road forever. I am hoping that there is dialogue to suggest that the approval will be forthcoming and it’s just a matter of all the work streams being concluded, otherwise it would seem pointless for the South Sudan government to not grant approval after 7 months when they could have just outright blocked the deal in a matter of weeks like how chad did in December.

But as always never say never in Africa and personally I hope we wrap up a hydrocarbon deal in Nigeria where we have better credibility as operators and regulators. Plenty of assets up for grabs in Nigeria for example TotalEnergies asset in Nigeria. We need strong producing assets with strong reserves and I believe that’s what we will be looking at assets which can give multiples and quick returns in short term but exploration potential for long term gains

Zengas - agreed although the whole chad cotco Cameron situation has been so fast moving since December 2022 that there is a new article on the situation every other day. It would be nice for the company to still address the market and let shareholders know everything in relation to Cotco still stands obviously I am not an expert in what is deemed market obligatory news and what isn’t and perhaps they probably need more clarity from lawyers first to see what the actual deal is before reporting it back to market

Seems like the only way to salvage something from the whole chad / cameroon deal is through arbitration as all efforts to negotiate and diplomacy has failed. Let's hope we get arbitration decision on this pretty quickly, it will be interesting to see if Savannah Energy release a statement on what it means for our share in Cotco and what level of protection is there I am sure this news requires some sort of an RNS to be released by the company

One thing for certain is it's really about time our new chairman shows his experience leadership and contacts in Africa to get deals done and work with governments after all we did hire him to do all of the above so let's see how influential he is in assisting Savannah through all acquisition challenges. Savannah problem isn't access to capital or being able to strike deals with majors it's problem is getting host governments on board with formal approvals which is where I am hoping he is a heavy hitter with a lot of experience who can help the company overcome these challenges............

Either way I am pretty confident that Savannah will have another deal in line more likely in Nigeria, where they have already proven to be a valuable partner and perhaps where they would already have confidence of the government approval as they have proven how successfully they have run accugas. So if I was AK I would be targeting sizeable acquisitions in Nigeria where we are more likely to get regulatory approvals in the short term and than we could always continue our geographical outreach in the long term once other countries in Africa become more receptive to independents taking over assets.

I have always been fully supportive of AK's strategy of acquisitions and still believe that we should continue this approach all it takes is for one major deal to come through to open the floodgates................

Law of averages would suggest that if you do target a few aggressively we should at least bag 1 but as always time will tell.....................

Komakino as far as I am aware 28th isn't a fixed date, Savannah will have a choice to ask for further extension or either re-admit without formal approval or terminate the transaction, But the choice will be Savannah's. They could still come to the market without formal approval, although I believe the preference has always been to come with approval in hand. So it's not entirely out the question that we re-admit without approval and than they target government approval by let's say 31st December 2023..........

My understanding has always been that Savannah wants to return to the market with a big deal now whether that's south sudan deal or something equivalent who knows at this stage, I believe they will not want to return to the market without a sizeable acquisition and than being at the risk of being suspended once more if they continue to pursue large acquisitions, so ideally they need to use the current window if possible and wouldn't surprise me if they continue to extend it further until they land one sizeable deal fully, by sizeable I mean a deal equal or great to 50,000 bopd.

Personally not expecting any transformational news between now and the AGM next Friday so expect it to be quiet as I can't imagine them wanting to rns significant news ahead of AGM. Let's see what July brings...............

The whole point of the nigeria de peg was it wants to attract a lot of foreign capital, and places in good stead now if we go on to acquire a few more nigerian assets.

Unless as far as I am aware that savannah has fixed dollar pricing for it's gas so it may mean that the purchasers of our gas are paying us dollar equivalent without and if our operational costs is naira than we could definitely see the de peg as a positive. Long term the de peg is a good thing as it makes financing more market driven and competitive

Also if we are after another acquisition in Nigeria depending on how we finance that acquisition it could make it cheaper to finance debt

In Savannah's case, considering that a significant portion of their revenues come from Nigerian operations, a devaluation could impact the value of those revenues when converted back to US dollars. However, if the company also has significant costs in Naira, these could potentially decrease in US dollar terms, partially offsetting the impact on revenues.

It's important that Savannah are explicitly able to clarify the position in regards to this, as investors if a company can't let it's shareholders follow the pound as I like to call it than that creates uncertainty amongst the investor base.

Zengas - It would just be as important to hear from Savannah not only about the 10% sale of Cotco to SNH but also what happens to it's interest in Cotco as I believe that chad want to block board sits and freeze accounts so Savannah doesn't get access to dividend revenues, whether we sale 10% or not doesn't bother me it's whether we will continue to benefit from it's revenues and have access to these funds.

any way before anything happens they would have to consider china as china and cnpc is critical to oil production and infrastructure that runs through sudan and south sudan. so the question is whether there is appetite for either warring parties to **** off the chinese when they also rely on the chinese heavily to also arm them.

i am not saying that a temporary shutdown cannot happen but there is a lot at stake for either warring parties to go against the chinese. you will never silence the headlines as unfortunately that’s the jurisdiction of assets that we are intending to acquire even if we complete south sudan acquisition stories like these will be a daily occurrence. so a lot will need to be able to filter as much as possible until official confirmation is received from the south sudan government that oil is being blocked from exports until then be ready to hear stories like this pre and post completion of acquisition. also it will be important to see to what extent it would be shutdown for as far as i can tell both sudan and south sudan would be on there knees so there will be no winners out of a prolonged shutdown.
