This legal challenge is nothing new, it was already in motion as mentioned in the BBC Article 2-3 weeks ago. If SAV and any officials are found to do nothing wrong via the investigations, it could be harder for court to agree with local Mayor as it shows that the DIA was issued without corruption. Below is what was on BBC a few weeks ago about the mayor talking court action;

I agree that the risks have increased, however there is so much SAV can continue to do to still progress the project and help the SP;

- Drilling update

- Resource update

- Commercial partner

- Road planning

- Community engagement

- Access rights

The fundamentals haven't changed, the EU still need EU sourced Li. This is a rare material with Portugal being the main source. SAV/MdB still overs the best short term hope for EU to get a Li mine producing at scale any time soon.

So assuming SAV are found to have done nothing wrong, but there are delays due to political issues I still see no reason why progress can't be made, just like the RNS stated

The more I think about this, I think it would have been odd had SAV not been part of any investigations, given the level of corruption being mentioned.

Not because I believe SAV have done anything wrong, as already mentioned it was often a source of frustration that SAV management seemed to be taking so long and being very happy for every step of the process to drag on.

My reason for thinking it would be odd had SAV not been visited by authorities, is because I expect these authorities want to see if the same accused officials also made attempts to get SAV to cut-corners.

Investigations doesn't have to mean that SAV are neither being accused of breaking rules (as the RNS already confirmed) or that the EIA is in question. It could be for evidence gathering to see if corrupt officials tried it on with other projects.

Honestly, for now SAV need to get on with the drilling and resource updates, progressing commercial partnerships and when time comes creating new working (above board) relationships with new Government officials.

So CNN is reporting....From what CNN Portugal found, the searches are also aimed at the former Minister of the Environment João Matos Fernandes and the owner of the company Lusorecursos, Ricardo Pinheiro.

No mention of any SAV employees, which is leading it towards be non-SAV investigation.

There could be a positive from this, what better endorsement of a project then to have had a major corruption investigation review the APA/EIA Issuing and deciding that it was all above board.

Yes the overall impression of Portugal Li mines might have a bad light for a period of time, but not getting caught up in the current issues could be very beneficial in the long term.

Having a Portuguese CEO now will be extremely handy. Able to speak to those in the know hopefully to see if anything involving SAV/MdB is under investigation.

Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa says he has offered his resignation to president after minister named suspect in corruption probe.

Really for SAV it means nothing, as PM lead a majority government. So hopefully like UK, will just get a new PM without need for new elections (though maybe better then those we get in UK).

Do those others have £11m in the bank? Approval? Government Support? Simple extraction? a product that all EU EV manufacturers will need? So many decent offers on the table that specialist companies have been hired to manage them?

This really does go into much detail, even exceeds what the company actually details at times. Talk about everything, including the protests and how this is nothing new and shouldn't stop progress.

Why aim for 100,000 and say 3.2p is pricey? I'd rather have 33,000 shares at 3.2p in a company that has massive potential over 100,0000 shares at 1p in a company with limited scope.

I'm not sure if everyone (not those on here but general investors who might have ignored SAV) really understand what this means. As Dale mentioned in the investor call, and in RNS's at the time SAV had received 'interest' from 50-60 possible partners/Off-Take buyer/etc. So at that point it could really be Del Boy saying 'Can I buy your Li for a few quid'. It meant nothing really at that stage.

SAV then requested that anyone interested had to provide details of exactly what was the proposal any interested party had, at this point Del Boy would have to say that 'After buying Li for a few quid, Rodney will make a few batteries from it, then sell them on Peckham Market'.

So at this point SAV was able to see from those 50-60 possible interested parties the quality of the actual proposals. How many could be those we could work with, what they bring to the agreement, etc.

Reading the RNS Today, there has been significant decent proposals (Sorry Del Boy but at this point you're out the game) that SAV have decided to appoint joint FA's with experience in this sector to identify and work with the best partner(s) with SAV. In short SAV will be partnering with the best and be rewarded appropriately in the deal, we will not just be taking the few quid offer from Del Boy.

Not sure I see the benefit in looking at 4 year old articles, this was at a time SAV thought they'd be in production in 2021. What we know is that SAV have said an update will be provided by end of 2023, on the process for selecting possible partner(s).

We know they're talking to 50+ possible companies, with it being a mixture of OEMs, Battery Co's, Refineries + Mineral Traders(??), etc.

I want us to smash through those hurdles now and get moving, we've spent 5 years+ since I got involved doing all we can with those hurdles. So much so we should probably have Colin Jackson as CEO.

Dale said in the Q&A call in July SAV are talking to many different companies including manufacturers. It was said in a way that it's not just the one manufacturer but many wanting to get involved.

He even laughed/smiled when I cheekily asked if he'd had lunch with Elon :-)

Thanks Terry for answering, much appreciated. I agree that being 'In Bed' with the state/a state institution would probably work better for SAV. You may recall that early 2022 we did have a possible agreement with GALP to sell 10% of MdB. The GALP is no longer a national company, there's still a large Portugal holding in the company. This agreement didn't go further though for many reasons. Maybe a Portugal company is one of those that will make the short list for being a partner with SAV?

But honestly I think the Portugal Government have more to worry about the type of Article on the BBC last week, which is probably why they're doing the type of work announced on Friday (though was agreed a few weeks before) on having a Li working group.

The Portugal Government know that if MdB doesn't go ahead, it will kill off any future Li mining in Portugal and all the benefits this brings.

Where does this leave SAV, probably where they are right now. Making pleasant tones to the locals, but knowing that there will always be a hard-core of Anti-mining that will never be happy.

Terry I asked last week what else you would suggest SAV do, but yet to hear from you. Please to enlighten us.

Happy to be corrected, thanks for the clarification. SAV have the local community info centre, have helped already in the community (paid for/fixed) a roof on an ancient building, have a dedicated liaison staff member, took onboard the additional EIA feedback from the community, are saying all the benefits the mine will bring and yes have the newsletters.

Could I ask what else you would do? Maybe your insight will be taken onboard by SAV, they've previously listened to what has been said on this board.

Terry this is not 'Abuse' but I would question what your purpose is on this board. You don't seem interested in SAV as an investment, you don't seem to want to see MdB developed, you've only got the negatives to say.

Now I know it's good to have both sides represented but let's remember this is an 'Investment Based Board', not here to discuss the Pros/Cons of mining.

So I mean it in the nicest possible way, but if you don't have a financial interest in SAV or MdB, then maybe look to post comments on a Anti-Mining or Green Agenda forum?

Snowflakes more like it. When the facts not emotions are looked at, then it will be very different.

If the Anti-mine groups want to stop MdB, then they need to consider the long term impact. In short, no Europe EV Industry with Europe either retaining ICE or importing from overseas. It is a simple fact.

No Mdb = No Portugal Li (as who will look into developing any other mine)

No Portugal Li = No Europe Batteries (where will Li come from, as in end even if made in Europe will still be overseas source mineral)

No Europe Batteries = No Europe EV's

There are other European countries where mining could be done, but again will anyone invest if EU hasn't shown willingness to progress in Portugal (where most Li is available in Europe)

Portugal Government (either current or opposition) knows this, EU knows this, Europe Car Industry knows this.

So stop the mine and have a short term win, it will be future generations (who want the clean air, jobs and knowing that EV's are not being made with unknown sourced minerals) that will suffer.

This BBC article could help bring SAV to the forefront as being a key Li player in Europe.

Then what with the extra tariff/tax that will be applied whilst Li is not coming from EU mines it will really make people question why mines in EU are not being progressed.

It does seem very ironic that there is an anti mine group where the outcome from the mine will have such a positive impact on the overall environment both for Net zero and also street level emissions, was this a new fracking site, I would be part of the anti group.

Listening to the full BBC Sounds article it's very obvious that the community are only looking out for themselves, the dismiss EVs as being a 'Business' and even say that there's Li in places like Spain, Austria, etc. So very much NIMBY. The attitude is they've done enough for the green agenda so it's someone else's turn.

There's one local who is being realistic and saying that without the mine the area will be dead anyway soon. The investment will be a good thing.

The government also come across as knowing how important MdB is and know that without Li mining Portugal will be missing out on big rewards that can be invested in local communities and people.

I do have a level of sympathy with the local community, but think it's best to work together.

I'd say a ballpark Trading SP of 12-14p to be in the 30% range for NPV-8% valuation range, with a TA at 60% premium, so 19.2 - 22.4p.

Once Commercial, resource updates and DFS come into play I would say 21-23p Trading this is 50% NP~V-8%, (based on no change to NPV-8% with the updates, etc) so a TA at 33-36p.

IMHO all numbers that are in-line with peer companies, this doesn't even allow for EU premium given that EU rules are coming into play on source of material, and SAV will be one of first to allow this to be achieved.
