Back to the starting point28 Sep 2021 13:06
The last rise was based on nothing, purely on data already known. The difference being the figures were more publicised which garnered more awareness in the company, ultimately for those to be locked into a story they never fully understood. The reality of the rise was it was based on nothing new.
Now we are back to the starting point, is anyone really surprised? The directors failed to capitalise on momentum simply because there is nothing noteworthy to report to sustain it. The same reason for the lack of communication; there is nothing to communicate.
The company had a great head start. They capitalised well and had fun. Now the general lack of inexperience regarding high growth phases of companies partly due to the way in which covid fell in their lap(right place at the right time meaning they haven't had to work hard to become market leader as they were one step ahead from the beginning) has allowed much more aggressive competitors to catch up and overtake. Admittedly they have been a little unlucky with the contract spat, but they have been sluggish in the ever changing regulatory environment, and for a growth company why on earth are they sitting on cash piles like this? Collecting interest in their savings account? Where is this lft? Where are the plans to move away from covid related products? They need to grow some b411s, spend that money before inflation gets at it and create some ruddy growth AWAY FROM COVID. The excuse about "waiting for the right investment" is blasphemy in growth companies, R&D and innovators. The lack of aggressiveness in diagnostics markets away from covid must be discussed by SH at the next agm. They are acting like ruddy Roche. They need to get down and dirty, roll up their sleeves and get a piece of the growing diagnostics pie.
Talk about easy come, easy go.
However, you all know I like to look on the bright side. The spike in SP shows many are still watching this company, and remain interested if/when the right sort of news comes along. Will it? That's the million dollar question
