Yes the decisions to cuts costs expansively and the Capital one sale were good. We need to cut our property costs and I would suggest even more costs elsewhere. Capita might be a very good recession play. My main concern is a buy out at too cheap a price

Maybe you could enlighten us all as to how the EU imposing tariffs on any country outside their hugely expensive protectionist cartel along with most other countries around the world is OK but Trump retaliating and putting them on their goods is somehow bad ?

1. The US has 37 trillion of debt

2. It needs to refinance 16 trillion in 2 years

3. China’s trade surplus is unsustainable for the US with that type of debt

4. The debt is exponentially increasing

5. This could all be solved by everyone agreeing to no tariffs or much lower tariffs. Let the consumer decide.

6. It seems to me all Trump is looking for some sort of reciprocity so why aren’t the other countries looking to do deals? Oh, they are now including the EU.

7. Is it really in US’s interests to make Chins stronger allowing it to grow stronger. It’s called the China Communist Party for a reason

Also GoCPI I’m not a fan of your condescending tone. I know a great deal about macro economics . I’m not throwing numbers around . The numbers are presented by the US government . The 37 trillion debt number is correct and you seem to skip over it as if it’s37 dollars. It’s colossal.

And actually if you stepped back for a minute you might think to yourself that the reason there is such colossal debt in the system is as a result of policy from politicians and bankers around the world . Supposed supporters of sound finance. They’ve completed mucked it up

@Gocpi ofcourse it’s a negotiation tool. You don’t need to be a rocket a scientist but I don’t believe in free lunches and so I absolutely quote see what one of the main aim is here . He won’t change policies but may claim the odd successful negotiation. He rightly sees that the stock market is not the main economy and is transient. We had an economic extinction event in Covid and survived and it will be no different here .

@Terry I do not think Trump likes the EU at all, correctly labelling them as protectionist .
