The individual referred to displays typical NPD behavioural traits – High rotation of repetitive, antagonistic posts, lack of empathy, belittling, goading etc., all designed to keep them front and centre of the board and promote self-importance.
If anyone has any doubts, ask yourself if you think the following quote from a recent post can be classed as normal behaviour.
This was aimed directly at long term holder ‘Tommy D’ in relation to his heavy financial loss.
‘This is joyful to see….
How is your return going on the shares you bought for 24p?
It’s beautiful, thank you :-D The share price is 12.9p’

You may perceive yourself as an equal member of a greater number, but these individuals see this board as a stage and you as the audience.
Their opinion will be heard and you will listen. Any opposing views must be challenged (antagonistic), there is no debate, as this is a contest that must have a winner and a loser.
You must lose, you absolutely will not have the last word.
Once embedded, these individuals always paint a picture of success in all areas of life, knowing full well there is no means of confirmation: Loving family and friends, busy social life, successful executive career or business owner, world travel etc. The reality is the exact opposite, hence the sheer number of posts at varying times.
You will note that only the ‘intelligencia’ of the forum are targeted, as a means to maintaining a perceived high level of status, with the ‘riff raff’ left completely ignored.
It is important to realise that none of these individuals chose to be born with these behavioural traits, so should be treated with a degree of respect, but at the same time they have no place on a forum where genuine investors are trying to make financial decisions.
Whether an illness is in the mind, lungs, heart etc should be irrelevant, none of us have any control over the location, but illness of the mind has always wrongly carried a certain stigma, mainly due to lack of understanding and education.
Terms such as ‘nut job’, ‘fruit loop’, ‘screw loose’ (as seen on other boards) simply show a lack of understanding and simply add fuel to the fire. As we move into 2023 we should be better than this, hopefully these notes may go some way to making a start in the right direction.
Recommended Response:
If you don’t use the ‘filter’ option, you should NEVER enter into conversation or comment on their posts, even when deliberately provoked, belittled or goaded. The primary response these individuals cannot handle is being ignored or sidelined.
If you must reply, simply copy and paste the first (or both) links provided below without personal comment.
It takes less than five minutes to read these two links, allowing you to easily identify these individuals in future.
Reposting these links without comment by enough posters will eventually force these individuals elsewhere and your board will eventually return to normal, sooner rather than later.

Posting this on a quiet day for relevant background reading, as there have been several casual references to narcissism, mental illness etc on this board recently.
In order to gauge the sentiment around a share before making important investment decisions that may effect your financial future, you may first decide read a forum such as this. It’s crucial that you are not swayed by flawed characters that give a false impression of the chances of success/ failure.
Unfortunately, such individuals are finding their way onto chat rooms such as this in increasing numbers. With this in mind, it’s important you can identify these people as soon as possible, as only by education and understanding will you be able to eliminate them from your thoughts and calculations.
When I say flawed characters I am specifically referring to individuals whose behaviour matches the traits exhibited by those suffering from one or more clearly defined personality disorders. There are ten recognised personality disorders, the two we are concerned with are:
1 Narcissistic Personality Disorder (Sub Group – Antagonistic).
2 Histrionic Personality Disorder.
Clinical diagnosis is not permitted online, but opinions can be formed based on the evidence presented.
These are the common signs to look for:
Frequent posts the same repetitive viewpoint.
Overtly and constantly critical, frequently looking down on others.
Arrogance.
Lack of empathy.
Has difficulty managing emotions and behaviour.
Unreasonably high sense of self-importance.
Reacts with rage or contempt and attempts to belittle others, in order to make themselves superior.
Major problems interacting with peers and feel easily slighted.
Speaks excessively and dramatically with strong opinions, but with few accompanying facts.
Individuals who suffer from these personality disorders live on a spectrum, steadily moving from mild to severe over time. Many are never diagnosed and those who are live in denial, as in their eyes admission of illness would diminish their importance.
In the real world, constantly taking the opposite view in order to remain the centre of attention causes severe social upheaval, resulting in verbal abuse and in some cases, physical violence. As family and friends slowly drift away and unable to hold down employment, most of these individuals lead increasingly isolated lives, often in meagre surroundings, totally unable to correlate their behaviour with increasing austerity.
At this point, many naturally migrate onto forums such as this, where they can carry out their behaviour largely unfettered, as the average board member doesn’t realise they are conversing with a disordered mind.
Any arguments are welcomed and indeed prolonged as long as possible, as this keeps the individual front and centre of the debate.
The choice of share and positive/ negative viewpoint is totally irrelevant. They simply choose a well populated board as a platform to promote their own sel
Mr Costs/ Macosta-
Genuine question: Why are you still here?
On Tues 24th January you posted:
‘20 years they have been trying to approve this drug. It is never going to happen.’
I would have thought after this comment you would have sold up, took the huge loss on the chin and moved on.
Hundreds of fellow posters have done so and ‘taken the hit’, but here you still are.
Despite your change of name, several well meaning posters gave you the benefit of the doubt and classed you as one of many disgruntled investors, not a serial de-ramper.
After the above comment your position as a concerned shareholder is now untenable.
You now appear, like three other posters on this board, to have an agenda.
Several less charitable and less tolerant posters have always held this view, I suspect that number will now increase.
T.
Just dropped in from work to scan the day's activity -
47 out of 91 posts today (52%) all revolving around two posters, keeping them front and centre of the board as usual - exactly as planned.
Signing straight off again and closing the laptop, back into the real world.

16.44: 'Let them play with testtubes but nog lead a company.'
Not very professional. No surprise there.
I always enjoy your daily posts, they're so very entertaining, especially when you mention the £500 you make trading this share every day.
Have you thought about putting your daily thoughts into print?
They'd have more value on paper.
Can you guess what type of paper I'm talking about ?
Yes, that's right, the type you roll around that little tube of cardboard.
Keep on posting though, every court needs a jester.
Doc83 -
Thanks for the reply, POW are on my watchlist but a shade too speculative for me in this current environment, I may step in at a later date. They only need one or two of those explorations to come good and you will multi-bag, so good luck to you with that one.
Interesting that they are cutting the frequency of comms down, as you say those shareholders should try SNG for a year or two!
I think this board has largely come to the same conclusion now. LTHs are 'once bitten twice shy', so remain cautiously optimistic, but won't be too shocked if they get stiffed again.
All the signs show that won't happen, but don't count the profits until they're sat in your account!

Doc83 - Sorry, thanks for the correction.
I meant to reference the recently advertised post:
'The Associate Medical Affairs Director is responsible for managing Synairgen’s relationships with external medical stakeholders, to enable evaluation & preparation for the introduction of SNG001 into clinical practice, post Regulatory approval.'
The last three words being the most pertinent.
Hard to evaluate the risk/ reward here at present until we receive an update.
The analogy of the swan floating serenely above water, at the same time feverishly paddling below the surface springs to mind.
Will this turn out to be a swan or an ugly duckling?
We should find out sooner rather than later.
Many thanks for your excellent contributions.

Having said all that, the ‘radio silence’ I often refer to is unsettling to the humble retail investor sat on the perimeter fence, hoping to catch a peek inside to see what’s happening.
I have regularly stated one of the primary functions of a CEO is to communicate with investors. In my opinion (I accept this is not worth much as an individual retail investor) Richard Marsden has chosen to keep communication down to the absolute regulatory bare minimum, which I find personally unacceptable.
I recently put forward the view that a quarterly or bi-monthly monthly general update should be given to outline where we are on the pathway towards commercialisation, obviously sidestepping sensitive commercial discussions. This would stop this ridiculous situation where shareholders spread rumours and bicker constantly with each other instead of having healthy, balanced debate and insight.
Paul Johnson CEO of Power Metal Resources (LSE:POW) (not invested, not a recommendation, simply an example) usually updates investors on the company’s activities/ progress/ setbacks/ plans etc roughly twice a week. He even went as far as giving out his personal mobile number on one presentation, allowing 1:1 dialogue for individual retail investors.
We need something in between POW and what we currently have at SNG.
What we 100% don’t need is an EGM.
The smart poster Gunto, as usual, called it right this afternoon:
‘Most of Manifesto’s ramping, which is 99% of their posts on this board, contained little substance.’
T
Struggling to find the right words here… I find it absolutely incredible that a group of intelligent, experienced investors would even consider engaging with an individual who:
A. Tells the board there should be an EGM then:
B. Tells you to go away and arrange it, then:
C. Start scaremongering with a ‘running out of cash’ thread.
This from someone who doesn’t attend AGMs – Seriously?
A supposed business owner who can find the time to post 17 times in 24 hours. Believe me, business owners don’t have the time to post 17 times a month, let alone a day.
Also, the accountant who prepares my annual accounts for my small business charges by the half hour. You won’t find me talking idly about AIM shares to him when the clock is ticking, nor would any other credible business owner or accountant worth their salt.
Once again, as for the best part of 2022, you have been ‘sucked into the vortex’, keeping this individual front and centre of the board, the centre of attention yet again, exactly as planned and over what?
Absolutely nothing.
The fact is there is NO EMERGENCY.
SNG are recruiting for a ‘HEAD OF US COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS’.
They wouldn’t be advertising this post if they weren’t planning on selling the drug for profit - They just wouldn’t. Sprinter taught both SNG and investors a harsh lesson, we all know we only have one more shot at this and they have to get it right, they are not stupid.
In 2021 they recruited this gent:
‘Richard Francis joined as Head of CMC, bringing more than 35 years of experience in the development, manufacturing, regulatory approval and COMMERCIALISATION of many biopharmaceutical products including Cablivi®, Orthoclone OKT3®, Remicade®, and ReoPro®.’
Yes, he’s manufactured and sold drugs on a large commercial scale before. Guess why SNG hired him? Still here.
In the same year they also recruited this guy:
‘Richard Hennings, previously worked for Verona Pharma, Gildead Sciences, Novartis + Astra Zeneca. During his 8 year Gilead tenure he led the expansion of respiratory & anti-viral portfolios in the EU & US markets, launching inhaled Cayston®.’
Guess what? He’s still here as well.
Successful high flyers like this don’t ruin their CVs or waste their working lives on a tin pot company with a drug that won’t ever see the light of day – They just don’t.
Added to that they’re recruiting a head of COMMERCIAL operations in the US.
The fact that they’re still here should inspire a small degree of guarded confidence. With the cash burn now greatly reduced, there is no need to storm the gate with pitchforks and lighted torches.
Most remaining posters have been badly burnt here, but remain with varying degrees of guarded optimism. Give the board until the Spring to deliver news, then if none arrives a re-think would certainly be required.
Either plans are at an advanced stage or they’re blowing smoke up your …. All the evidence points to the former.
(Cont above)..
Maybe Ghia could return to add some meat onto the 'value generating' bones as 7/02 draws near?
Fruits - I'll add you to my notebook - not sure which section though.
Tommy - Ditch the therapy and buy some more shares - that way you'll make back more of the 100k you lost 12 months ago, they're a steal at under 14p.
RM has to give Katie some good news soon surely?

From my notes:
Ghia @ 00.11 on 20/11/22:
‘2023 is nearby I’ll sharpen my prediction to February for value generating news on or after the 7th.’
As tomorrow is the 7th – thoughts anyone?
This is supposed to be a discussion board.
I’ll catch up with any insight this evening – Some of us still have to go out there and keep the wheels turning!
ATVB T
Busterboy - I'm as sure as any retail investor can be that this won't go the same way as SXX.
There is every reason to remain cautiously optimistic that we will eventually see a healthy return on our investment, although the route to market is as yet unknown.
The key word is 'eventually', I feel we'll have news in Q1, so not too long to wait now.
Although we all have differing views, at the end of the day at least 95% of board members all want to see this drug on the shelves one way or another.
All the very best to you and all long term holders.
Many thanks to Fruits, Gunto, AnthonyW, Tommy, DocD, Paladin and Jackman for your considered replies and imput to my earlier post – much appreciated.
As Gunto says, it’s good to have a reasonable debate and I guess an individual’s level of trust and expectation depends largely on previous experience with AIM shares. Doc83’s 14.56 post being as good an example as any.
I clearly remember the first hand accounts of the final meeting in London between shareholders and the BOD of SXX. There were security guards with dogs at that altercation and with good reason, so a certain degree of the ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ attitude is understandable in some cases.
Totally across fruit’s observation of the BOD keeping their cards close to their chest, but I don’t and never have agreed with CEOs only speaking when they have something that materially affects the share price or only when they are forced to at AGMs. One of the functions of a CEO is to keep investors in the loop and not left reading between the lines.
I think a quarterly or bi-monthly update on general progress, next steps, rationale behind recent hires etc without going into fine detail is required. I feel total radio silence is not acceptable and shows a lack of respect to LTHS. I know at this stage we are now at the bottom of the food chain, having been courted by presentations etc in the early stages, but that’s AIM for you.
The level of frustration builds when there are long periods of silence and the drift in share price does nothing to quell the fears of the less experienced investor. This stance also leaves the board wide open to the ‘manipulators’ who don’t have investor’s or the company’s best interests at heart. A regular, brief update would put an end to that.
SNG haven’t really found their niche to market yet, COPD – covid – and now talk of multi-purpose trials. It would be good to see STRIVE covid P3 completed, as it has taken so long to get here, although I appreciate the appeal of a JV/BP collaboration with more control over the protocol/ endpoints is also appealing.
The networking and the mood music has been positive across the pond and the ‘alternative therapeutics’ drum is beating, but now the time draws near where words have to be put into action.
As an aside, I had my page view with everyone de-filtered during the past year for research purposes on human behaviour, jeez there’s some excellent case study material on here isn’t there? More on that over the weekend if time permits.

#royaltyenginehahaha
The debate currently being held on this forum is mainly due to RM’s ‘multiple arrows’ comment, as the term is so vague it is open to interpretation and has left investors without a clearly defined pathway to success. As we know the market hates uncertainty, which has been reflected in the declining share price, leaving LTHs the target for ridicule from a minority of flawed characters on this board.
Given the rarity of public comment out of Southampton HQ, you would imagine when one of them eventually speaks it would be with absolute clarity, but not in this case, Richard loves to keep us hanging on in there with obtuse phrases.
One of my less charitable investment buddies, who uses more ‘industrial’ language interpreted the comment as, ‘throw so much $hit at the wall, hoping some of it will stick.’ Hard to argue with that viewpoint at the time.
It would have been beneficial if Marsden had clearly specified whether they were aiming for several trials running simultaneously, or one single entity involving many more patients treating a ‘broad spectrum’ at the same time, with varying results running side by side.
Gunto reckons there is now clarity regarding this, but nothing is certain as IMO the American’s will ultimately make the decision.
A ‘broad spectrum’ treatment is obviously the Nirvana that all pharma companies aspire to, but in reality there is always the small matter of FDA clearance to overcome. Anyone who has been invested with other pharma companies will know this is a long, tedious process that generally takes 1-2 years to complete.
I am not cross ramping here, but I will mention Angle PLC, as they have recently completed the tortuous process of FDA approval.
They have a new piece of tech that offers early detection of cancer without the need for biopsy, but when they initially opened up discussions with the FDA to seek advice on the pathway forward they were advised to study and obtain results for breast cancer only, followed by separate studies and results for ovarian, prostate and so on.
They were specifically advised that approval to sell their tech to cover all cancer types was out of the question from day one.
I obviously highlight this as there is a clear parallel to be drawn with SNG’s ‘broad spectrum’ approach. Given this scenario, I'm hoping, no at this stage, praying that we secure a place on the STRIVE covid P3 bandwagon. Decent P3 results here - The rest should follow.
Several posters have voiced concerns that we would lose control over the protocol, endpoints etc, but at this point we have little choice but to put our trust in the Americans, as we lost control over our own destiny after Sprinter and whether we like it or not, the USA hold the cards that matter. They have the cash, the BPs and the FDA.
There is enough evidence to suggest that SNG will be included on STRIVE P3, as they have clearly stated the treatment ‘merits further investigation’, whether Strive P3 materialises only time wil
TommyD –
How do you even find the nerve to address Ghia in 2023 after your appalling ‘Kermit and Miss Piggy’ double act over the summer?
Do you think board members have memories of goldfish?
In any other sphere your posts and those of ‘the woman’ from June onwards would have been classed as shameful online abuse.
Your online dalliance with your now mercifully absent online buddy reached truly nauseating levels at times, repeatedly goading Ghia for merely putting forward the view that shareholders should tuck their certificates away in the ‘bottom drawer’, as there would be no significant share price movement into well into the following year, a view has been entirely vindicated as we moved into 2023.
For some unknown reason, you morphed from the resident, useful science geek into one half of a grotesque online bullying tag team.
As Ghia said some time ago, ‘Most of the science has been done now’, so your role here is now becoming increasingly redundant.
Your latest comment, ‘so many of your posts have a bias that’s rather one sided this year’ – Listen to yourself. The words ‘pot’ and ‘kettle’ come to mind.
Ghia’s a smart guy and can defend himself, but pontificating from the elevated perch on which you have placed yourself these days puts you in a bad light with anyone who has read these pages over the past year.
It’s about time you got off the guy’s back, your stance is getting more tedious with each post.
Stick to your speciality and leave it at that - the science.
Spacman:
‘My suspicion is that all the actors are in place; Rick Bright and De La Cruz would not be risking their reputations on some remote UK one-drug business with a $30m market cap unless there was BP in the wings. And my guess is Johnson & Johnson, why would they be funding the Universal observational trial otherwise?... certainly not to provide data for a competitor to use.’
Andybe4:
Totally implausible.
However nicely written.
I even suspect an element of desperation from the rampers of this stock suggesting a SPAC.
It’s total delusion.
Synairgen – Latest vacancy description:
‘The Associate Medical Affairs Director is responsible for managing Synairgen’s relationships with external medical stakeholders, to enable evaluation & preparation for the introduction of SNG001 into clinical practice, post Regulatory approval.’
Spac? – JV? – Strive P3? – PT? – Dilution?
All we have at present are suspicions, guesses, differing viewpoints, fence sitting and attritional posts – Oh and the sand in the egg timer is running out.
The silence is deafening..C’mon Marsden, it’s about time you followed this guy’s lead:
Geraint Anderson, CEO of TT electronics plc: “You must have regular dialogue with investors and analysts to build trust and credibility. You need, first of all, for the investors to understand your strategy and then you need to build their confidence as you execute that strategy. You need also to be very clear in setting the expectations as you will always be judged on what you said you will do.”

DocD -
I think the backlash to FTC was mainly down to his use of the phrase 'rubbish stock', a view to which he is perfectly entitled and also to be challenged.
I believe the varying levels of bullishness regarding the activity SNG has carried out over the last 11 months is down to lack of concrete information, leaving the current position open to interpretation - reading between the lines etc.
As time goes by, views tend to split into two camps, causing bickering and frustration.
Totally agree we need news on Strive one way or another. There has been no evidence to suggest we won't be included and enough to suggest we should.
The longer retail investors are sidelined by the company, the more uncertainty grows. Not long to wait now I suspect.
