Lovejoy, not really guesswork. Just a process of deduction based on existing regulations. It should be within 20 or 30 days (working days is usually meant) from the date of the contract being agreed- 11th February. So it could be from any time from now up until the 25th March. If there has been no challenge- and we haven't heard of any- it could be anytime until 11th March. The government have just lost a judicial review for not publishing contracts as required so they will be under pressure not to repeat that since the matter has been clarified now they can't claim ignorance. However, if they had an excuse- such as wanting to wait for results of the evaluations from several firms who may be able to deliver both high standards and more accessible, faster tests than I really wouldn't be surprised if they wait until those results came in and defend their decision if necessary. No-one would go to prison for it if they didn't meet the deadline. They would use the defence of acting reasonably in the light of the circumstances. I think it's equally likely that they allowed ODX to put the RNS out, knowing that results are expected in good time to satisfy regulations. The tests will be delivered by April so not long to wait now.

On the Mologic site. In that they will press release before we get an RNS in all likelihood. Worth doing.

Nice to see. Talk now in the budget analysis of £22 billion 'spent' on test and trace. But at least £5.2 billion of that still to be spent at last count. Should be seeing those big contracts landing soon enough. GLA.

Test to release is the only way the aviation industry are getting off their knees this year. It will have a longer life span than this year with the ongoing challenge of variants and the fact that most countries won't be fully vaccinated before year end and some countries will take years according to the WHO.

Well junior2020, I would say you had a chance to buy much lower since you have been investing. Seen you on the ODX board deramping like black hole over there for many months. Lths here have had a long slow journey to see their investment build very, very well. I am late to the party but still managed a low entry point which I have added to at higher prices. You got in late so sit and wait for a few weeks and you will do well. In the meantime go away and learn the art of zen. Do some research. Stop posting. You don't add value. Grow up. Dear Derampers, Investors can read. Do bear this in mind at all times. The government will be placing contracts for another 280 million lateral flow tests according to Dido Harding who testified to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee in January. She said they will be spending another £5 billion between now and May on tests of all kinds although leaning predominantly towards new lateral flow tests. It will end up being compulsory to take a test for school children. Before the pandemic (remember that) all kids have to go to school unless they are being homeschooled as a legal requirement. The standard of homeschooling is generally considered much worse than teaching standards in UK schools. The government are calling this voluntary for now. It won't last and rightly so. Outrageous for the anti-vaccine/conspiracy theory brigade to hurt their children's education and life chances.

Because I have already topped up recently. Yesterday's little spike happened for a reason. I am guessing people at the BC conference really liked what they were hearing. The only way the aviation industry is going to recover is through a test to release scheme. 100 million passengers go through Heathrow in a normal year. That has obviously plummeted and it will take time to fully recover. My guess is they will be back to 50 million passengers through Heathrow alone by the year end. Once orders start coming in and the recovery is showing in all kinds of industry data the market will start to anticipate that. We will all do very well. Better to hold than to trade imo. I am much happier in at 56p and not moving (topped up at £1.29 a few weeks later actually) since than those traders selling and having to run to catch up, losing money with every trade. If this falls to £1.20 I will be buying more too. Still building my position.

Fyi, Baroness Dido Harding gave evidence to the House of Commons Public Accounts committee in late January to say that they will be spending £5.7 billion between now and May from the 2020-2021 financial year (ending March 31st). She said there won't be an underspend. So I expect March to be a very busy month for those companies with new generation tests which are already developed. About £500 million has definitely gone to Surescreen so far since then. ODX have won a contract to produce antigen lfts for an unspecified amount. I would envisage a good £1.5 billion for PCRs from that budget. The US competition might put some pressure on for some forward purchase to make sure the UK see some of the best in class too. GLA.

Northeast, the £20 billion contract is a framework contract for the next 4 years for lots of different kinds of tests or related equipment. GDR are on it so they can bid if they want. DC has said that the UK isn't their priority but he's also said they will pursue UK opportunities. GDR technology will be a market leader and the poc test will probably be the market leader for a while if not the duration. Haven't heard of any other company with a mobile PCR except the Lampore tests which are more cumbersome and not very accurate for a PCR. Maybe GDR are prioritising the USA first because they already have EUA at the moment and the market is 5 times the size and BC has a massive presence with established sales and distribution networks across the country? And the new US government has incentives for labs to ensure higher production. Could that be it?
