You took a decision to invest in a small company who have developed a breakthrough technology to produce PCR kits, which are faster to make and process, less resource intensive and cheaper than other available brands. They are partnered with major pharma extending their reach across international markets. You bought in a pandemic. Sensible investment decision. What you didn't expect is that approval of diagnostics takes time. Take responsibility for your decision. Be an adult. Stop your incessant whining. You are an embarrassment to yourself.
All stocks have suffered over the last few months due to inflation fears. As soon as FDA approval lands this will turn in the blink of an eye.

Mikodox, the RNS didn't shave anything off the sp ffs. The news was difficult. Mologic haven't passed the PD evaluation. And they are suing the government. The RNS made sure we didn't get hit harder.
The RNS reiterated 'we will be manufacturing whichever test is selected '. Superb.
And in the meantime it's clear that the DHSC has questions to answer. So more uncertainty.
Meanwhile test and trace is being discussed on BBC Parliament all day. Nothing about this has been mentioned. Test and trace will be central to our borders policy for international travel. We will sell everything we make.

There will be a lot of legs peddling fast under the water right now at the DHSC. Innova out. Their website is still down. The parliamentary channel are looking at testing right now. 2 tests for every traveller on amber and red lists and 2 for green list test. All party commitment to improve test, trace and isolate. All party commitment to save the aviation industry. The original deadline for June 21st would have served as a deadline for commissioning decisions. Wouldn't be surprised if they have already selected a test from those which have been approved.

I am guessing he knows that the contract has been awarded. Interesting that government haven't answered the parliamentary question about ODX contract value (market sensitivity so vs the rules) but they have said that they passed the competitive tendering process to gain the contract.

I'm not being a snob. I just don't see how he would know they use pigs mucus when they don't say they use pigs mucin. Yes, anyone can Google it and they can see it's used in labs and there are limitations to them being used in labs. I checked his Twitter profile and I can see he's a big fan of Avacta and he doesn't like Trump (welcome to the worldwide club). But I do know that PA Consulting were not brought in to head up Porton Down! Because my friends do work at PA Consulting. So lying about one thing, loses cred for me.

And not convinced that PA Consulting were appointed to lead anything at Porton Down. They were meant to be helping to engage the market. They aren't scientists. They are management consultants.

I read this but didn't share. Richard Armstrong works in property. How does he know Porton Down use pig's mucin. Does anyone know if pigs mucin is even a thing?

Rocquet, that's a link to Avacta's website. Not an independent evaluation. I don't care whose test it is we make. One of Avacta's recent RNS's suggested they weren't even bothering with UK evaluation and were focused overseas. Have you got a link to show they are going for UK evaluation?

I think it could be Surescreen. They are also part of the UK RTC. Doesn't look like the DHSC will fall on their sword. They will be forced to explain why they have approved a test with 78% sensitivity from Innova and not yet approved a test with between 94 and 98% sensitivity depending on ct values. Can't say I am not totally fed up with the UK authorities. Looks like MHRA were pressured into agreeing Innova due to their capacity. What a mess.

We've already got a contract for up to £374 million in the UK. We are being fast tracked through the FDA process by the NiH programme. The FDA have binned Innova and raised questions about their behaviour. The MHRA are reviewing Innova as a consequence. We will have confirmation by June 22nd on whether or not the DHSC will renew that contract. The UK government are on record numerous times about wanting a UK diagnostics industry. Perfect opportunity to get out of the Innova contract scott free. Innova seems to have gone to ground.
The FDA action gives substantial credibility to the Mologic challenge. Something is up. Discrepancy between numerous independent, credible evaluation teams and PHE.
And Johnson is determined to open up on July 19th. Pilot trials now on for two lft tests to assess whether we can avoid isolation if we have contact with an infected person. NHS app is telling anyone with contact with an infected person to self isolate right now. Not sustainable with an end to lockdown. Testing is part of living with covid.

Innova sensitivity is 78.8% sensitivity vs 93.4% for Mologic. No competition surely? Don't see why we've bought Innova. They are miles of the MHRA specification.

Yes. The Mologic CEO is sounding very confident. Interesting that he says Innova are so much more expensive. I thought it looked like they were getting about £15 a test. Wish there was more transparency.
Certainly looks as if Avacta have decided not to even bother with MHRA approval. G8 shame if PD have messed up on the day job.
I can see the Innova contract getting withdrawn very soon though. Which will shift sentiment in a nanosecond. Just as many buys as sells so I guess I'm not the only one.

Ella, but of course you are right. They are using frozen samples- saliva, nasal swabs not blood. Sorry. The principle is the same.
I can't believe that the US have to tell us what we are doing wrong but that's how this will play out by the looks of it.

Ella, The same principle applies I think. The antibodies reduce in body fluids with freezing and unfreezing. Read the evaluation for phase 2.

Are already underway. They rely on testing to ensure that if you have had contact with someone with covid you take 2 tests. Still a massive market here going forward.
