I think. Getting a bit of association with Avacta who have said they are talking to a company with access to government loaned equipment about a manufacturing deal. They are aiming to sell £30 million a month. The slides will go up on Twitter later I guess. But they haven't got a test approved yet and expect to update the market in H2.
ODX could be selected to manufacture Surescreen, Vatic, Avacta, and/or Mologic.
Susan Hopkins hasn't been sent to do the Marr show to describe a future where we test instead of isolate for no reason. The trials are done. They will have previewed the results and she's been asked to start the PR before the report comes out. It'll happen before 15th July or I am eating my hat.

Sorry to offend thine eyes with a Daily Mail link but it focuses on the key part of the interview. Dr Susan Hopkins is imaging the future. One where we take tests whenever we get pinged by the NHS app. 7 tests for each person each time they get pinged. 10,000 people a day are getting cv19. We aren't dying of it. We're going to live with it (finally) in Dr Hopkins future. We will stop self isolating. We will start testing. The trial based on this premise is preparing to report. They know the results or they wouldn't be trailing this idea.
10,000 people's contacts over 7 days post lockdown. When people are out and about mixing with strangers in pubs, events, every normal social space. Not just your friends and family. Everyone who was in the coffee shop were in yesterday. on this basis we could easily have more like 200 contacts a week on average. 200 x 10,000= 2 million a week. x 52.
Future looks OK to me for ODX investors. I will have another buy this week.

The Times also has this story. They say 62000 people were pinged last week for self isolation. They will be able to have tests for 7 days instead if the pilot recommendations are accepted. 62 000 x 7 x 52 weeks is:
22,568,000. Now, imagine all the people who haven't downloaded the app because they don't want to isolate? Actually the majority of us. But we may want to travel in the near future. So what if another 7 million of us downloaded the app. Or even 50% of the population downloaded the app. You can very quickly see how low level prevalence can reach 50, 60, 70 million tests a year. Add in a test for every child going on holiday with their parents before departure and two more on arrival.

There's a trial on self-tests to replace isolation now due to report according to the Guardian and Sky news. Han**** favours it. Every day tests for anyone who gets pinged by the NHS app for contact with someone infected. Another 2.7 million people have joined a previous 5 million to get the app which now has vaccine and test status on it.
In the meantime, Caroline Lucas, MP, question on Innova and the FDA has had a reply to say that the DHSC can't respond yet but a response will be given ASAP. Interesting?

For self tests to be sold over the counter to customers. For lft antigen and antibody tests.
They have lowered the threshold. They are suggesting different thresholds for different types of workers.
At the moment there are no lateral flow tests for sales direct to customers. Hello!
Why have they lowered the thresholds for sensitivity? Hello!
I suggest they are gearing up fast ( and in a bit of a panic, hence mistakes) for the next phase of the testing program.
1. Direct sales to customers for antigen and antibody lfts.
2. Ensuring they can pass some UK diagnostics
3. Getting all employers to start using tests routinely- hence guidance for employers recognising and differentiating between those people working with vulnerable groups and others.
4. Getting ready for the EU standard of covid certification for international travel and big events.

Deeks is tweeting about this. He has pointed out (correctly) that there's a difference in the TPP and the MHRA spec published today.
My observations are as follows:
The MHRA guidance seems to be focused on employers and suggests the possibility of different thresholds for different groups- also offering a lower threshold than previously. On sensitivity for example, now says over 85% for health workers and over 65% for other workers (?!) whilst the new TPP simply says 95% is desirable and 80% is acceptable.
It seems as if there's a rush to get lots of new guidance out. So much of a rush that the advice is not consistent.

Published tonight. All the target product profile guidance has been updated. For self-tests 'which can be sold over the counter direct to customers '. Guidance for lft antigen and antibody tests. Guidance for manufacturers.
Desirable for sensitivity for lft antigen tests is 95% or more. Acceptable is 80% or over.

Yeah it will speed up the selection Gman753. I think the reason we haven't got a sovereign lft is because no-one gets through MHRA evaluation. And the MHRA are finally facing up to the fact that it's their mistake, not 'a discrepancy between what firms report and the real results ' as they have repeatedly claimed to date. Porton Down have messed up. The penny is dropping at MHRA.
So Mologic will pass at this threshold. And Innova are just under. So that's wrapped up nice and easy. If you read today's decision on Innova all they are saying is they are not revoking the EUA. 'Nothing more needs to be done at this time...'

Aberdeenman, it won't be backhanders. It will just be a good old fashioned **** up, followed by a refusal to face up to mistakes and sort it out, followed by an attempt to cover up. They have been under massive stress so that ain't good for decision making. I am not sticking up for them. I am shocked actually. But us Brits are very good at **** ups and cover ups!
I reckon it will come good sooner rather than later.
Chris Whitty made a speech to the NHS conference today. He said covid is with us forever and it will take 5 years to get a vaccine that can defend vs every variant. He predicts another wave this Autumn/Winter and continued case rises for the weeks ahead with a level of increased hospitalisations. We will get some proper tests.

Big Bangs, Mologic and FIND and the LSTM say Mologic results are between 94-97% depending on ct loads. MHRA said 86%. So yes, it looks like they are moving the goalposts. Maybe they have realised that they have not been doing the evaluations properly? If they are nervous about their methodology- they have changed their minds on methodology more than once- they are going to be panicking about Mark Davies (Mologic CEO) request for an independent observer and proper transparency about their methodology.
If they reduce the threshold they can pass Mologic. But they are opening a can of worms if they do that.
Also if they reduce the threshold they can say Innova have nearly met it?
I suppose the fact that no-one has got through the threshold for lfts as soon as the MHRA do the evaluations, but several companies have been independently assessed successfully, must be ringing alarm bells by now.

Just reduced the sensitivity threshold for clinical standards to above 95% sensitivity from 98% and suggested variable thresholds for different workplaces from over 85% to over 65%. Something is happening.

I have some ISA left because they didn't take all of an earlier buy limit order I had on ODX. Will see how this settles by tomorrow and get the rest in. At the end of the day the DHSC are desperately trying to save face. A lot of high profile people are already tweeting about this poor decision. They won't easily be able to justify this and the pressure won't disappear. They may well try to change the subject with some more contract announcements and try to say that the EUA is wholly to satisfy the emergency requirements. It won't fly.
Mologic are suing them for goodness sake. My disappointment is the effect on the timeline. But ODX is getting their contract and that's the main issue for us as shareholders. The controversy that will follow this Innova decision could mean the contract is much bigger than advertised.

They aren't buying more. Just not recalling it. They will come under pressure for this decision though. I can see a U turn coming. Lol. What a mess!
Nonetheless the ODX contract is sitting on bidstats for all to see. We'll be OK whatever happens. But now that the DHSC have taken this decision they will come under pressure to justify it. Plenty of time for them to renege on this.

Anthony Costello, ex Director of the WHO and a member of the Independent SAGE is tweeting his disappointment now on this. This is going to be a continuing news issue for the next few days I reckon. Hold or buy.

Excellent . Clearly we will start getting a drip, drip of the trial outcomes now. Sounds v exciting.

That report isn't the results, it's the study proposal. G8 that the BMJ are covering it. Trials have concluded though and report to follow. They seem upbeat though. They wouldn't be tweeting and promoting it if it wasn't going to be good news.

And the conference sponsors include Roche and AstraZeneca. The trials on pharmacenogenetics to avoid loss of hearing are done. Report to follow.
