It isn't £22 billion over 4 years. The whole test and trace budget was £22 billion for this year including all the test and trace staffing and infrastructure. They have another £5.7 billion to spend before the end of March. At least a couple billion are for lateral flow tests. Baroness Harding has testified to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee on this. You can get the minutes from the HoC site but it was at least a month ago. I will find them if you want. BC are already on the framework I noticed so I bet GDR get a big buy. They have been dishing out contracts for £500 million a time though so I am very hopeful that GDR will be a big winner in the UK in the near future too.

Badmashy, sounds like the POC update is overdue then? So overdue means it could land anytime doesn't it? One to look forward to. And is it possible they will do the POC update as the same time as announce the CE mark? Guessing it should be some way down the line already from what I've read.

Hmm. Yes I recall all that I followed it closely obvs as we all did. I guess Joe Public must include all the care workers and NHS staff and university staff and students who are already using them? So are you saying there may be requirements for staff training and/or supervision as far as you know?

Chuggley, yes I wondered what the status of that was. We weren't told that PHE were heading that up were we? We were told that it was being subject to further evaluation. I think it's to do with the **** up on the peer review which was sneaked out in the EDSAM report after hours- they acknowledged that they had used the wrong methodology in the peer review that had massive dissonance with Professor Moore's independent evaluation. Interesting that this PHE evaluation confirms Professor Moore's findings precisely- 97.6% sensitivity. So we needn't have gone through about 5 months of total stress. I guess they've all been busy in the pandemic and it's a lot of balls to keep in the air.
So we've obviously taken a great big leap forward and it's all been done quite low key. Just as well tbh.

People are saying that we've had a new ii recently so we will soon see. That can create more confidence and commitment from private investors too. If we get a TR1 this week other big investors will start to assess our trajectory. It's an upward spiral. If Bloomberg and/or the pharma press cover the BC launch of Genedrive products today in the US we will be attracting interest from iis as well. Bit risky to trade this if you ask me. You will get left behind in a nanosecond when it rerates. Then either you shell out a lot more for a higher average or you've missed the boat so to speak. Then you just want to stab yourself in the face with a fork. Speaking from bitter experience! ;)

It does need approval Chuggley. Surescreen have already got emergency approval as you have noted previously so looking good for immediate approval once the tests get through evaluation. Doesn't really make a difference now does it? We are manufacturing whoever gets approval and the best amongst them. I agree with you it looks like antibody tests are back on. The news is now recognising that 45% of over 80s have antibodies and today's trial with young people being infected by cv19 (yikes- so brave!) suggests that approval for antibody lfts is on the cards too. And of course yesterday's RNS about the Public Health England evaluation confirming that ABC19 was best in class antibody test has hardly been remarked upon. All the ducks are lining up. I think confidence has been dented with all the politics on this share. It will soon bounce back when we are all over the news and sitting on massive contracts.

Yeah. It's brilliant. My favourite ever investment. Goes up fast and not too many traders. Beyond assessing potential. Already started a very confident journey to mass commercialisation for high profit margins in a market with high demand.
Oh and partnering with a major US pharma. I mean this is a proper once in a lifetime opportunity.

All the headlines are going to be about mass testing now. Only 3 more days before ODX start getting named every time and Colin King starts to become a bit of a B' list celebrity ;)

If I were in BC's shoes and looking at this absolute cash cow which will generate billions of dollars revenues in the face of huge demand and in all likelihood offer a transferable core product which will speed up the production of any diagnostic tool, I would be thinking of buying Genedrive. Why wait until the sp is at £4.00 when they will rightly ask for a billion dollars with the proof of concept already evident to every big pharma who is currently regretting not being in a successful diagnostics space? I can see them bidding for a buyout sooner rather than later. Exciting investment this is. GLA.

Aberdeen man, you are right on both counts. I am a bit tired! Sorry everyone. I haven't taken account of reducing costs for manufacturing at scale and for some unknown reason (doing more than one thing at once is the likely cause) I have assumed 50 million sales instead of 100 million. Blimey. So double everything in my forecasts.
