Fair comment. I think the bottom line here is the market for EVs is going to be so large and develop so quickly that none of us, including the supposed expert analyst, can accurately predict how it's going to play out. The one thing I do know for sure is predictions 10 years out do not have a particular high success rate.

Supply is going to be the big issue and that goes for more than just nickel as we transition to a green economy.

I do for several reasons.

Cost.

Material availability.

Potential performance improvements (it's not just limited to nickel rich chemistries).

Just about every single analyst I've read see's LFP with about 20% of the market by 2030.

You said, in a previous post "....SSB will be 15% to 20% lower cost than current cells due to replacement of expensive battery grade graphite." If they can find a way of removing "expensive" battery grade graphite from the mix they can do the same with everything else that's expensive.

I guess we'll just have to disagree about LFP.

I think the EV market is going to be big enough with a diverse demand profile to accommodate several battery chemistries. Everything I’m reading suggests LFP will be around quite some time to come. Does that matter? Not really, the market’s big enough.

Having LFP as a go to option when the market for nickel starts to overhear, IMO, is a good thing. A runaway nickel price doesn’t do anybody any favours in the long run.

Not so sure about that. At the lower end of the market where cost is important and range less so there will still be a place for LFP. That does really matter though because the market will be big enough to accommodate several battery chemistries.

.....didn't seem to dislike the recent RNSs. They're up at 59p at the moment on what is currently small volume but at least its up.

Has Horizonte pegged at 8.8p at the moment. Volume is poor I know but its still 10% up on the bid here.

Surprisingly LME stocks are on the up, +1,410 tonnes yesterday and +672 tonnes today. That's the first signs of stocks increasing in months.

The drilling results might be outstanding but this isn't.

"Grant of Options

The Company has granted 200,000 restricted share units and incentive stock options exercisable to purchase up to 350,000 common shares in the capital of the Company until October 27, 2026 at an exercise price of $0.97 per share to a director. The incentive stock options were granted in accordance with the Company's Stock Option Plan."

This lot are in grave danger of tipping over into the trough and drowning they've got their snouts in there so deep. Incentivise by all means but at least make the target higher than the current share price. Where's the incentive in $0.97?

Of course it could be US$0.97 but with this lot you just know its CAD$0.97.

And exercisable until 2026 as well. Shocking.

This is their get out of jail free card. From the 07.09.2021 RNS.

"Certain reported production and grades for August have not yet been reconciled and may be adjusted in future public disclosure."

This RNS also said "Step-up of ore production rates to 1,000 tpd by the end of 2021"

Todays RNS, just 7 weeks later, is now saying "The Company now expects to sustain 1,000 tpd by mid-2022."

Weasel words from, not surprisingly, a bunch of weasels.

I think Tesla and others adopting LFP batteries for their cheaper models is a good move. It helps remove an emerging bottleneck and keeps rapid EV adoption on track. Nickel is still going to be used in EV batteries just not in every EV battery.

The evolving EV market was always going to see a variety of different battery chemistries. And lets face it, LFP has many advantages over nickel rich alternatives and is ideal for certain applications. It doesn't, however, tick every single box. That's where nickel steps in.

I don't know about the other projects she was involved with but this one.

"She also served as CEO & Managing Director of Mirabela Nickel Ltd. where she is credited with the successful turnaround of the Santa Rita mine in Brazil during a period of extremely low metal prices."

Went bust in 2014 and it wasn't just becuase of low nickel prices. The grades they were expecting to extract failed to materialise. If they had produced the grades ecpected there is the possibility that Santa Rita wouldn't have gone to the wall.

RL, you're very much a details man. If you haven't come across him already Matthew Fernley is an interesting listen. He identifies the problems in the battery metals supply chains very well. The emphasis is on lithium but he does touch on all the other metals in the EV supply chain.

For everybody else it's a good education on the difficulties involved in this particular sector. Especially for those who think it's case of simply turning up and digging a hole.

If you don't have a credible plan for getting the nickel out of the ground then I'd suspect not much more than its valued at today.
