I think aiming to a life where having servants is your goal is a pretty shallow aspiration but it takes all sorts I guess. As for the old chesnut ".....half of your income is permanently removed, to support others" you really need to do a fact check before making a statement like that. What's of greater impact on the tax burden we have to bear is the tax avoidance of the wealthy, super wealthy and large corporations.

They may be so but at the end of the day, given the choice, where would you rather live, Russia or the West? I've lived and worked in both and I know which one I'd go for.

They're not having much luck at the moment in their efforts to create an orderly market for nickel. Opening price $14.50/lb, current price approximately $16.75/lb with trading currently suspended. Stock in the LME still falling but at a much lower rate. The interesting statistic, however, is the number of cancelled warrants to opening stock which has fallen to just below 27% of the total. That's the one thing to keep an eye on to get some idea of where this all might go in the near term.

So you think "somebody" had a direct line into the Kremlin, knew 10 to 14 days in advance of Russia's move into the Ukraine, engineered a a "false flag" to pump the share price and promptly dumped their load prior to the first shots being fired!

Interesting that today's nickel price drop from the Kitco published figure at the open of $17.3212/lb. to $15.3284/lb. is 11.5% so way over the supposed 5% daily limit set by the LME. It's even greater if you take the $21.9750/lb. price at the close before trading was suspended. They couldn't feck things up more if they tried, or could they?

If its any consolation I think your post is entirely reasonable. Looking at Horizonte's past they haven't hit self imposed targets with any consistency so scepticism is probably warranted. This current phase of the company's development, however, is far more certain and dates should be much easier to stick to.

Construction projects have risk but problems, when they arise, are much easier to correct and negative impacts easier to mitigate than the uncertainty inherent in exploration, preliminary engineering studies, fund raising when the unknowns are more numerous. I think the current stage of Horizonte's development allows you to draw a line under the past. They have far more control over their destiny now than ever.

I don't think so. I think it was always a part of their strategy in the event that the Ukrainians didn't roll over and welcome them with open arms. Just look at Aleppo and Grozny.

What you make of that is Bell doesn't give a flying kcuf about the rules. If there was significant good news in the pipeline Bell would have bought more than 2m. A 2m purchase, at current prices, is only £9,000. When you set that against how much he's siphoned off over the years its little more than the last dribble at the end of a very long P.

Population of New York City - 8.4m
Population of Russia - 144m

GDP of New York City - $1,501B
GDP of Russia - $1,483B

Even the UK has a GDP almost twice that of Russia. The bottom line, despite all their achievements and enormous untapped potential, both human and natural resources, Russia is a poor country where the overwhelming majority of the population live in grinding poverty.

I don't want to be rude by not replying to your post but at the same time I don't want to offer an opinion. What I think is not really relevant, especially in this market. There is nothing you can reference that makes offering an opinion meaningful. What we are seeing right now is so far out there as to make an opinion on where it all might go or end up meaningless.

Have said that I'm hanging on, more out of curiosity than expectation.

I don't think so. I think the Russian invasion of Ukraine was the catalyst. 17% of the world's supply of nickel, especially class 1 nickel, going off line all of a sudden is going to move the dial. JP Morgan picked up on that and were in like a shark in a blood bank.

The market versus China’s State Reserves Bureau which is in effect the Chinese government. Given the comments coming out of China/Tsingshan about it all being the fault of pesky foreigners I can see this happening. The CCP still doesn't quite get the market. For them it's merely something else to bend and manipulate to suit their needs/purpose. If the SRB gets behind Tsingshan I can see more than JP Morgan piling in.

The coming week could be very interesting although it will probably confound expectations and turn out to be a bit of a damp squib.
