That's all well and good investinvalue, but if you are a customer in financial difficulty you need someone to sit with you to work through a solution with you to help improve your lot. This makes for a better experience for the customer, and this makes that person more likely to have a positive outlook on the business. A machine cannot offer that kind of service.

Why on earth are they cutting even more staff. Considering the profits made over the past couple of years they are clearly not strapped for cash.

When you also consider the fact they have culled a lot of staff over the years, they could easily redeploy these 380 people elsewhere within the group. Will these savings be going into the dividend pot? Seems unlikely.

After reading the WTB rns, my initial thoughts were well, perhaps not. But in that light, it wouldn't be that hard to believe. Certainly, they'd have a few more inns where there may not be any Premier Inns, so that might be something for them to consider if they do consider putting a bid in for Marstons of course.

I was at a Premier inn in Stourbridge last November and they do stock Hobgoblin beer, so maybe having our beer brands in their portfolio would also be beneficial to them too.

Of course, this is all ifs, buts & maybe's and chances are, that's all they are. But of course, anything can happen in this game.

They could probably afford to, they've got plenty of cash on the hip now they've offloaded Costa Coffee on .

JMO, the way I see it is if the major political parties continue the way they are I really can see For Britain (an argued right wing party) is going to gain more and more support from disgruntled voters who are sick to the back teeth of labour/cons/lib dems et al doing the bear minimum at best, who will vote for them purely out of protest.

If they then win the election by a massive landslide, the media would have a serious meltdown.

And I would pay good money to see that.

I've got to admit that I hadn't heard too much about Tommy Robinson until he was on GMB just over a year ago in that God awful interview with Piers "I think I'm it" Moron.

I liked the way he conducted himself in a reasoned manner despite Morgan's half @rsed attempt to discredit him as an extremist thug. For me, all Piers Morgan did was to make a Tommy Robinson fan out of me. The man talks a lot of sense, it's just a shame that there are those that are too blind to see it.

That said, I've had a cheeky little top up today. My Halifax share dealing account had a reduced cost trade offer on today, so I sold some of my Lloyds shares that I got via divvis and whacked it in here. So I've got an extra 600 in here.

Labour well who knows what the hell they'd do, and the Lib Dems want to completely overturn the referendum result, which goes against democracy so based on that both of those to me makes them unelectable.

If you consider Dianne Abbott 's track record, she bumbles from one brain dead comment to the next with remarkable ease and stupidity. It's like she is intellectually incapable of pausing for long enough to think about what she is saying or doing. If Labour got into power, this woman would be given a job that requires as a bear minimum, a reasonable level of intelligence, and On that score she is widely short of the mark. This is the daft c*w that thinks she can recruit new police officers and pay them less than £50 a month. Does anyone want a buffoon like that running the Country's finances? I wouldn't trust her to run a bath. I just think that anyone daft enough to vote for a party with someone that stupid in it needs a serious wake up call.

In regards to anything else Brexit related, for me, the Government has been @rsing about dragging its feet & bug gerring about for the past 2 years not knowing weather to scratch it's head of it's @rse has given business leaders, etc more than enough time to come up with contingency plans for the worst possible outcome in this matter,but they evidently havn't. Instead, they've bit ched & whined room and gloom.

With Dianne Abbott in charge of The Treasury the books will always balance. Anyone stupid enough to vote Labour with her in any position of authority probably deserves all the 5h 1t they get. A bit of a conflict in your post there, Jed51 don't you think? Not sure I understand your reasoning for saying that these are still worth holding when you say you have offloaded yours the first chance you got.

I believe that you have to rd-apply for it upon expiry. The first one I got was not auto renewed, but you are correct about the minimum holding of 500 shares to qualify for the card.
