I used to work for the bank until I was made redundant a few years ago. I don't really care about that, and I'm not bitter about it.
But I have had customers on the phone to me in tears because in their minds, the schit had hit the fan in a spectacular royal fashion. Credit card debts, payday lenders charging them ridiculous rates people that were up serious sh it creek.
It was my job to spend as long as it took to look into their income & outgoings to look at lending options that would have reduce those costs & save them money in the process, and to present the customer 's case to underwriters.
I've literally had customers crying at me and thanking me for pulling them out from under,
You need people to do this kind of stuff because machines can't do this, and they don't care that they can't.
