It's a valid point. When you get on a plane, it's not unreasonable to expect it to be in perfect working order and fit for purpose. It's not like a bus where it it's engine fails for whatever reason, the driver can pull over and then call out a mechanic and sort it out.

If a plane's engine packs up, it's quite a different story, it can kill many and for my money, it's quite right for airlines and the authorities to ground potentially unsafe/ dangerously flawed aircraft and if it's a proven design flaw in any manufacturing process, then the manufacturer must be made to compensate it's customers for all losses.

Why isn't he offering to put some of the bank's extra profit the shareholders way?

Doubtless be works hard for his wages, but the bottom line is, this is our money too.

I only have a small holding here with 3000 shares, but I like this one. So I'm not in perhaps as deep as otjers, but holding for the divvi and will be reinvesting when I get it.

It reminds me of a classic one from Burger King (I think) a few years ago in the U.S. As funny as phuck it was.

They put an advert in USA Today advertising the left handed Whopper, which had all the same components as the standard Whopper, only they had rotated all of them to 180 degrees to the left to accommodate handling of the burger to left handed Americans.

As it turned out quite a few of their stores got swamped by loads of customers demanding this new burger. It got so bad they had to put another ad in the paper the following day saying it was a hoax. Well funny.

Again, one assumes we are being paid for that too.

I also trust that Greggs have given us a nice chunk of cash for Piers Morgan spitting out that Vegan Sausage roll live on air driving their sales up.

And I trust that Lorraine Kelly's drivellous hour long advert is bringing a.little to the table too.

Let's not forget that there is a by election coming up in May, we, as the electorate ought to be orchestrating a mass protest by voting for an alternative "far right"party in this election.

This will send a clear message to the mainstream parties that we have had enough of all the BS.

I've been having a bit of a jiggle with one of my other holdings that I was losing interest with (Lloyds). I've reduced my holding in there so using the profit I got there to add here.

The best thing to do is contact the passport office. They'll have the best information on this. As I understand it, you will need to have 6 clear months validity when you come back home, regardless of where you are going.

As it goes, I've just got my new passport through this morning as there would have only been 4 months left on it when we get back.home from Greece this year.

I was hoping to have sent my application off this weekend so that my new one wouldn't have "European Union" stamped on it, but when I got wind of we might not be leaving on Friday , I sent it off earlier just to be safe.

Quite a quick turnaround around on it though, it only took a week & a half to get my new one. Just waiting for my son's to come back now.

Hard to say. Assuming something straightforward is out forward & goes through, this as you say would provide some level of certainty which can only be a good thing.

If it's a bad deal which bits turbulence, obviously not so much so. But given all the p1ssing & @rsing about that's been happening over the past 2 years I think there could well be a few more twists and turns to come short term.

Here (1000 shares) today after reading the rns. It made for a good read IMO. Not really heard of its brands, but Very little debt, seemingly good growth plans & potential, good results posted and a small dividend. What's not to like? A good growth potential here long term. May well top up at a later stage of all goes well.

For the record I sold at a profit last week, but am buying back in on Thursday as the price has gone down,

& yes, I always reinvest my dividends, as I do with all of my holdings.
