I've been thinking for some time that a Farage/Johnson alliance would be a sensible option given the scullduggery that's been going on with the opposition parties to thwart Brexit.

The thing is, I can see how those would see Donald Trump's comments might be seen as interference, despite the fact that I along with many others share this opinion. That said this does sound like a genuine opinion from him, unlike the comments made by Boll lock Obama at the time of the referendum.

If anyone remembers this, Obama said that if we voted to leave, we would be "At the back of the queue for trade deals".

Oddly, I remember thinking at that time that this looked moody to say the least, like he was told to say this.

I believed at the time that this did not sound quite right. An American would never use the phrase "Back of the Queue, it's a British phrase, an American would say something to the tune of Back of the line.

Just a thought, but I can see how this might be seen as interference.

Good points, but I just don't see why no offer was forthcoming when such potential gains for them would easily have been available with minimal effort by them could have been achieved.

I have to agree, any bid for ITV would/should have happened by now, regardless of Brexit in my view.

There was no better opportunity for a preditor to steam in than when the SP & exchange rates between USD/£ were almost simultaneously at a low level. That would have been a perfect time to strike. But no one did. Who in their right mind in that position runs the risk of currency and share price fluctuations Northwards before moving in?

I really am struggling to understand why those toss pots would want that. It's the best negotiation tool we have, for all the obvious reasons.

It's a bit like a lion voting to have it's teeth and claws removed.

I agree (and hope) We leave on no deal. It is almost certain that if we "Crash out" I would say that the EU would soon think again about offering something.

They'd have the economic concerns of the other 27states to consider. If they start playing silly buggers, all they'll achieve is getting up the noses of British consumers.

I'd say that on the back of that, a lot of Brits would boycott European products. Cars, food, etc. Doubtlessly this would damage their economies to a degree, weather the European wants to accept that or not.

If our Politicians were not so weak willed they'd have played this card right from the off and we could have put this to bed long before now and avoided all of this bloody nonsense.

To be fair, it had not crossed my mind to suggest that any of the ITV studios were in any way involved in the production of the Downton Abbey film.

I was just voicing my opinion that I would expect the film to make a lot of money for it's creator, Julian Fellows, and of course for those that made the film.

Yes, me & the wife went to see it last Friday morning. It's an absolute delight to see if anyone is considering going to see it.

It's gonna make an absolute fortune this one is.

It's nothing to do with Brexit itself, mate, it's more to do with the inaction/in-house fighting among MP's that can't or won't accept the democratic vote to leave and are fighting it every inch of the way that is creating all of the problems.

But I agree with you. All that has done is turn the UK into a laughing stock.
