Hi @daltry - the way the SP is currently performing - my £2.70 estimate is looking conservative now and I think I'd like to revise it upwards to £2.75 by end of the month and perhaps even end of the week!

@shorty - Musk doesn't directly own FTC shares but he's got some pretty tasty vesting options granted back in 2024 - Strategic Agreement with SpaceX -https://share.google/xO7051tpT5tCzaEPR

I think this agreement has recently been tweaked so the option to vest is triggered in DELIVERY and not specifically on ORDER

Anyhow - whatever way you look at it - Space X and Filtronic look to be working closely together for the foreseeable future ....

Which makes Filtronic - right now - pretty much a one customer company but if they can expand the customer base then this will truly fly!

@shorty - a lot of people are wary of FTC due to its high market capitalisation compared to order book but you've got to understand they've got some pretty clever and important tech that even the mighty Musk can't replicate.

So Musk continues to place large orders and has also taken a very large stake in the company (and the hope is always that he will buy it outright one day).

The technology - using a Buffet analogy - seems to be a very sizable moat so the future opportunities should be huge (which is sort of partly factored into the current SP)

BUT if it's proven that others can replicate what Filtronic have done then the opportunity beyond Musk (eg Bezos) and other defense contracts could make £1.30 look immensely cheap ....

I was drawn to the company because of Staverly and - even though I've just burnt my fingers - I will continue to track and trade FTC when I can.

Will be interesting to see what happens over at FTC in the coming days ..

@aim - well i got stopped out at £1.23 and lost a few hundred pounds - but it is troubling why the share fell so heavily today on no news - it's never done that since I've been watching it (although I've only been watching for a couple of months)

The chartists have suggested a revisit to £1.15 or even £1 so I'm sitting out for now to see if it drops further and/or whether £1.15 holds .

I'm not the luckiest of traders though - so you could argue that £1.23 would be a good entry - especially now I've been stopped out 😁

@kipper - yes I got stopped out at £1.23 and I ended up with a loss of a few hundred pounds (probably virtually all the profit I made out of my last, successful, FTC trade).

These AIM stocks seem to move all over the place and when the knife starts falling it's usually prudent to bail out - which is what I did.

If we get down towards £1.15 then I'll be tempted to buy some of the sold FTC shares back but the fall seems to have come on a day when an analyst suggested a target of £2.05 so no idea for the drop!

PS: The reason we are chatting about FTC on the CPI board is that Richard Staverly has large investments in both CPI and FTC and it was this investment that got me interested in FTC in the first place!

@shorty - actually I think it was you that called the £2.60 breakout by commenting that we opened above on Friday morning and - like Ken Dodd - I thought "by Jove @shorty is right" and that inspired me to add at £2.5933 early Friday afternoon.

I think we both knew though that once £2.60 broke then we would see £2.70 in short order (in fact it touched £2.70 for a split second this morning)

This time last year we were at £3 and things look a lot better now than they did then ....

So yes - £3 here we come (again) - at which point we might have an opportunity to trade a few!

@shorty - I'm pretty sure @aim took @daltrys advice and traded CDL today but the declared profit from the trade just doesn't stack up !

Rather than openly admit they had made a mistake with the declared profit (in the same way I admit when I have tried to make a trade and it's gone against me) - @aim just ignores the many questions and obvious discrepancies.

Disappointing really

@chrisbish - a lot of those buys are actually sells - including the two sells of mine around 16:02 which are showing on LSE as buys.

Without Level 2 is sort of impossible to see what's really going which is why us "mug punters" are always at a disadvantage over the city boys!

I've capitulated and banked the % loss rather than risk losing a much larger percentage by holding ...

I don't like the way this has started falling and the chart suggests a retest of £1.15 or even £1 from here (unless we get some more unexpected news - which is always a possibility with this share).

So I've banked the loss to sit on the sidelines to see what happens next .... Good luck to all holders ... you are braver than me! 😁

@savage - leveraged CFD trading for large sums on 0.52p AIM shares - now that is the fast track to the poor house - even if you are a MASTER of the AIM market 😁

@kipper - we are definitely back on the uptrend and I think we could do with a bit of news now to really light the rocket burners - perhaps Ofgem audit finished, exit from closed pension business, new contract won, FCF achieved earlier than predicted.

Without news - I'm sure we'll end September in the £2.70s and I'm looking for £3 again in October (like we got last year) .....but with news imminent then we could well do very much better than both those predictions

@aim - I don't doubt you made 20% profit - I was simply questioning the stake which you would have to have traded to yield a £30,000 profit based on a 20% rise - which is £150,000 .... I very much doubt that .....perhaps you bought 150,000 SHARES (at 0.52p) - £780 stake - and sold that for 20% profit.

If you had staked £150,000 and bought 28 million shares and you were buying in 10k tranches you would have had nearly 2900 transactions haha

@aim - surely you didn't punt £155,000 on a CDL from @daltry this morning to create a £30,000 profit on a 20% return (as reported by you).

I'm sure you did jump in for a short term trade and I'm sure you made 20% but - unless you are Aim "Rockefeller" Master - I doubt the seed stake was £155,000 - possibly £15,000 for a £3,000 profit?

@aim - I doubt you would have made the last post had you currently been holding any CPI stock 😀

The fact remains - if we can cut cost with £2bn worth of contracts in the bag then we should return to profitability on our EXISTING business .....

THEN we focus on growing the business again by winning multiple, probably lower revenue, contracts but with a much higher margin ....

That's the road to riches and that's why I invested ...

I think we will see £2.70plus here this week .... you heard it here first! imho 😀

@savage - more nonsense from you I see .... The runaround plan was NEVER about growing revenue - it was actually about shrinking revenue (ie becoming smaller) whilst at the same time radically reducing costs to drive profitability.

Once Capita become profitable (AH I think described it as becoming leaner and more agile) - THEN they will focus on growing PROFITABLE revenue ....

So - Yes - maybe revenue will drop to £2bn or even less but if that makes us profitable - who cares!

@daltry - I know you are a bit of a 'doubting Thomas' when it comes to AI - but it's clear that companies that embrace it (even in it's infancy as it is today) become more efficient and more productive.

Any task "outsourced* to AI means a human doesn't need to participate in the task (either partially or wholly) and that drives down cost and therefore improves profitability.

Ironically - Capita could be a great example of an unprofitable company (because of the high cost of employing humans) that turns profitable by embracing AI and then reducing headcount and increasing profit from their contracts.

Your doubt about AI is similar to other peoples doubt during the Internet revolution of the mid / late 90s - some people couldn't see how or why the internet would change anything ..... Yet it changed EVERYTHING!

AI is the same ....

I just couldn't help thinking are well Capita are placed - poised at the front of the incoming AI revolution - as Trump and Starmer etc massive investment in AI data centres in the UK.

The top team we've got here have an immense opportunity now and, if they execute (as they have done in the past) then the share price is going to reach many multiples of where we are today.

I'm not ramping here - I'm just pointing out that the 2 year old strategy to partner with Hyperscalers and become a technology led company is simply the right strategy at the right time.

Capita under JL was entering the last chance saloon whereas now I honestly believe we are on the cusp of something huge now.

I added again on Friday as I think we will easily breach £2.60 this week and I'm expecting £3 or more as soon as we confirm closure of the loss making pension business and announce FCF

So do we think that UBS taking a 6% stake in Capita is as a result of Zurich bringing their life and pensions back in house - thereby allowing Capita to close the loss making business and add £20m plus to our bottom line?

Is that the suggestion? Surely not? I don't think those things can be related - can they? Must be coincidental - surely?

@jupiter - any price in the early £1.30s or less is a great entry point and if it falls lower my advice would be to add more.

This very quickly moves on news and can return to the late £1.40s and beyond in the blink of an eye.

Future opportunity here looks huge so you could either trade it for a quick profit or hold in the anticipation of a bright future with always the added hope that Musk could decide to buy the entire company at any time!

Ha - if the £2.60s hold then it looks like I timed that top-up to perfection ..... I'm not usually that lucky .... So it probably won't hold .... Fingers crossed
