Yep it’s a beat. 2024 forecast is just p/e of 12 tho. This deserves a better rating, surely?! 15 plus at least. Think we’ll see a blue day here

By the way Teneo hasn’t given me the January date for the trading update yet. Am chasing. If we don’t get one by Thursday 18 Jan, I will start to wonder if there is a corporate action going on… could be buying out a smaller gifting retailer… or maybe a PE approach. Either way, the value on offer is compelling

What proportion of CARD’s employees are on minimum wage do you think? I would guess most non-junior store workers are already above minimum wage

Thanks - I got confused by Stockopedia’s cash entry (which actually includes ‘short term investments). Not sure short term investments is the correct classification. Anyway, considering a punt here given discount to NAV. Question is, is the NAV correct? From what I can see the majority owner gets paid a few million of the NAV goes up - fishy

Apologies I’m being a little lazy with my research here but how/why does the company have 170m of cash on its balance sheet and no debt? Thanks

I don't believe the CARD forecasts include the new Aldi and Matalan concessions. Could be a major boost to forecast EPS

Yep, possibility of no trading update in Jan but given its a key trading period I would expect one. Also, the forecasts are very conservative, so the chances are they will need to be updated.

I think the chances of a profit warning are very minimal and that the risk is to the upside (i.e. raised guidance). I think we will see 120p plus soon. This is based on: (i) anecdotal evidence of strong CARD trading, (ii) Darcy's prior track record, (iii) an already ridiculously low valuation, and (iv) a long term technical uptrend in the SP. Bon chance, all.

I would guess next week. In my opinion, Darcy has set up to beat expectations. Will be interesting to see how the company deals with minimum wage increase

The CARD share price trend looks brilliant to me (for the long term holder) - looks like a massive uptrend. From a fundamental analysis, I really struggle to see how this can be valued less than £1.50. That would only put us on a p/e of about 10...

Cinch still buying - wonder what they'll stop at? 10% 20%? 100%???!
