No Easy, I am not playing down the potential. If a JV lands then it could transform the SP drastically and change COPL for good. However you have to look at previous form, COPL has years and years of history with broken promises and failed ventures. We are holding on by the skin of our teeth and the only thing that is going to help is increased production.

Lets look at what the CEO actually said: "The negotiations regarding a possible joint venture announced by the Company in July 2023 are ongoing and the parties are working to agree all outstanding matters."

POSSIBLE = like it sounds he is saying something is possible. It does not say completed or done.

ONGOING = something is taking place with no established timescales. No end dates

WORKING TO AGREE = they are not fully aligned and need further work to "agree"

So please stop being so binary about this. The CEO is clearly indicating that the JV is still "POSSIBLE" but not certain and says that they are "WORKING TO AGREE". So it might happen, it might not.

Smart people invest in what is known not the might happen stuff. So no one should be investing thinking a JV is certainly happening. They are free to do so but it would be a hell of a risk. It would be much better to work to the knows and that the SP will gradually recover to 5p + with steady increases in production.
