Do we have any idea what the uplift costs are?

I think we can all agree the placing was not ideal. however, the result of the placing is that we are now generating revenue, lets hope at a low cost, this should make the company look a lot more attractive to lenders. It's a hold for me but less enthusiastic about the share price rising to the levels it could have done. That being said it could still come good. If this deal is completed and we get the full 100% then that's a lot of income, lets just hope that income is used wisely. if it is then we could all stand to make a lot of money still, production up, share buy back and who knows this could be high teens by 2023.

The market looks a lot happier with this placing that I am, I was expecting a drop of double digits from the off...

Share consolidations rarely work out, it just makes the share look better without adding any material value, we’ll want share buy back here if Art is really serious about looking after the investors

Not sure how positive I can stay on this, I said a few days ago about looking at the share price more so than looking at the martlet cap and I got shot down but this is exactly what I meant, you’ll see the market cap at $100m+ but won’t see the share price move cause of the constant dilution... I can only hope that the clown in charge starts buying shares back as soon as income starts rolling in, not sure Art will care to much about getting hurt with dilution as he can simply increase his salary with the new income producing asset, worrying times IMO let’s hope the market reacts favourably

but if you're looking to make money in the stock market, I always find it slightly more beneficial to look at the month to month or year to year pattern than a day to day one. When you do that here we are roughly the same price as it was 2 years ago (Jan'19) but we are significantly closer to a real-life development, all being well of course. the share price rose 24% yesterday on speculation, did anyone really expect there to be no retrace without news? Today COPL might end even, it might end down or it might end up, if you don't have savings at risk (and you shouldn't) why let it bother you?

CNOOC bought Nexen a few years back... so they must have to sell a lot and quick I'd imagine.

FYI I own a superyacht, a house (not an apartment) in Monaco, I have 17 cars all valued over £200k, I have sold multiple companies for millions each, I have a supermodel girlfriend, an amazing chef for a wife, I donate a billion quid a year to charity, yet here I am taking a punt on a share on the AIM market rather than living off of dividends from blue chip stocks.

Shaa, I always appreciate your contribution however I don't think there is any need for the speculation on price variance just now. Let us just think about where this will go by easter :)

just over 1.5m more shares, be rude not to top up a little at these prices... I'll have another couple million next week too if the price stays down here

The market cap is meaningless to any growth investor if the share price never increases, in general I find the market cap a poor metric to go by, if you float another billion shares on to the market every 6 months to finance deals that essentially hold the share price stagnant then you aren’t doing very well, you’re breaking even. So I have to respectfully disagree with anyone saying to look at the market cap, I’m not betting on the market cap increasing I’m betting on the individual share price increasing resulting in the market cap increasing.

I mean a 20% loss stings if you just bought in but I’ve been in RBD for years and watched the clowns in charge of that company water down the share price again and again, this doesn’t feel the same, funds were raised for a particular reason, I don’t see COPL diluting again as they should have production income within the month. I’ll see where this is at tomorrow and I’ll possibly buy some more.

In all seriousness though if this deal comes off and we get Nigeria striking we could be in another world come January 1st 2022.
