I hope I manage to get some closer pictures tommorow under a microscope. Will post them in the evening. But I think this pen is using extremely low power. Only 200 clicks. Might me a marketing stunt for save power solutions. Btw: s pen is very thin, to my opinion not nice to keep between your fingers. More a toothpick than a pen...that Apple pen posted yesterday looks far more handy to me. Just read that an ipad exploded in an apple store in Amsterdam. Assumed is a leaking battery. Good for supercap technology. They cant get them safe....

Just had a check with a electronics expert. He thinks a very small cap should do the job. Didnt see anything on the pcb. Might be in the small black molded part. I will check under microscope tommorrow. Maybe a x-ray check (but I think it is too small to see something). After that, I will give it a try to remove the black plastic mold. Anyway, I do not expect this s pen has cap-xx ip onboard.

Will bring it to a friend of mine who repaired electronics stuff for many years this evening. If not succesfull, On monday, I will bring it to the electronic designers and smt engineers @work...I will figure it out left or right.... Parkez, thanks for the motivation ;-)

Are triple present on the pcb , but these are ceramic capacitors... Maybe they have 2 versions ? Aftermarket and oem ?

Could it be that I bought a monday morning assembly ? That they simply forgot the capacitor ? :-)

Just got it, did a tear down but nothing found that looks like a supercapacitor to me.only verysmall smd parts on a very small pcb. I will send the pictures later by email.

According tracking and tracing, my s pen note 9 order can be picked up around 3pm today. Looking forward to tear it down, but I´m very curious why there is no teardown present on the internet by now ??

BTW: I noticed that they are in high volumes available by now to order separate. This means that the number of produced s pens must be higher than the amount of note 9´s.....Looking to the pricing (only €29) , I guess you can count a factor 1.5 for the coming year. (Breaking, convenience or getting lost...) Something to bear in mind in case Cap-xx is somehow involved.
