Smt/reflow is a total different way of packing than the current bag concept. The inside herbs could still be similar. Interesting thoughts, maybe cap-xx will explain this to us soon... ;-)

Parkez, 1 smt cap from Murata simply not present or not timely released. 2 smt from Murata too expensive or over-engineered for the aplication. 3 performance smt cap Murata too low. 4 Seiko is using cap-xx IP. What are your thoughts ? I go for item 1 and 2. Would be nice to know if we were in the running and what went wrong...

End of August first evaluation samples would be shipped. Isnt that market sensitive information as soon as they are shipped out ? Should be an rns this week. Btw: Did AK ever bring bad news public until now ?

In the 3V announcement it was mentioned that end of August 2018, first costumer samples should be shipped. This is “soon”.

I think the projection should be more a hockeystick. Once it goes, it goes quadratic and not linear. To my opinion....

Bbb1, I also sometimes doubt, but simply read last rns very carefull and you will find out again that there is really a lot happening in a wide field of costumers and application. The only conclusion is: it will happen, only question is when. Would be more afraid of someone buying a majority share on the background. AK should have sleepless nights about that...

Parkez, agree with your insights. I actually hope Apple will come with a serious s pen. Timing could fit also in case released in 2-3 months. Imagine...One I can use for drawing in the air and shows it on the presentation... a very intelligent laser pointer which remember my moves...the one from samsung is simply a selfie stick... do I really want to place my 1000$ phone somewhere to make a selfie ??? Just having some wild thoughts...

I think I found something. There is something like +SII K8371 on the board. Googling brings me to www.sii.co.jp. A chip type edlc could it be the one we are looking for ? Cph3225a looks very similar.

Welsh, there is no alu foil below the orange rubber ring. It is only soldering of the wire to the fr4 by means of a molded connector. I think the supercap should be a smd component.

Welsh, I do not understand your question. The copper induction wires are directly contacted to the black molded part.

I just peeled the black molded part with copper... nothing inside... I think we need to analyse all components on the pcb.
