About retaining costumers of Murata. The product is not a commodity which means it is special designed in the final product. I judge that this is a low risk. The only thing what could have been happening is that some built up their own safety stock on top of the one prepared by murata. But I do not expect costumers stepping out in this phase. This will happen in case quality or supplies appear not to be reliable...

Hi OS, not sure if COVID is negative affecting.

For sure the murata line was delayed due to COVID.

But we know for example that spire health tag has seen a serious growth identity COVID. What we simply do not know in which extend the other costumers and licensees are affected. Could even be no effect or even a positive effect.

Sorry mixed up the years....still early...but I think the message is clear anyway

2019 results were 8 nov 2020.

So, in about 2 weeks there should be some tangeable results of licensees like tdk, cde and direct sales.

VR, I think AK would like to move faster but isn’t allowed due to automotive quality release phases... the reason is that manpower and location are changed which is considered a major change in automotive environment. For the rest, I fully agree ;-)

Kencarv, sorry for my late reply... a bit busy today.

I (and I think some others) were silently hoping on mentioning something about supercapacitors or a settlement just before battery day. That’s why I expected that the shareprice would drop already by today.

For the rest I fully agree with your remarks, no worries :-)

After watching the battery day, I couldn’t find anything directly related to cap-xx.

Of course there can be ip infringement but they are not selling it yet.

There was also a hint from Musk that there is more to come about batteries.

I think the shareprice will move back to 3p and will only rise in case solid financials are shown

Today is battery day, After quite some research I think nothing will be presented which can be related to Cap-XX. Hopefully we get some figures soon otherwise we will end back to 3 to 3.5 in no time...

What I observe is that anode and cathode coating without drying is a key process for high volume production. Is cap-xx and the recent murata coating line one of the others ?

Look to the patents, a lot is about the electrolytes.

For sure they make the electrolytes themselves OR it is outsourced but the recipy is protected (like Coca Cola). This is not commercial available for sure.

A power supply or driver is often 24hrs on and the temperature is on the pcb about 50-60 degrees.

This is why many electronics like led lamps and the first solar power convertors have a typical lifetime of 8-10 years because of using these can type capacitors. For automotive applications, this is simply too short and the temperature conditions are often even higher. Therefore I think automotive is interested also for applications even if the capacity Is not needed. Let’s see...

I also liked the sealing technology they patented. One of the big problems with current can capacitors is the limited lifetime of 8 years due to the evaporation of the electrolyte.

The laminated design form Cap-xx solves this and I even think they have developed the manufacturing ip for mass production.
