As emerging robotic applications move toward 48V powered devices, battery supplement and peak power assist applications are also on the rise. SuperCapacitors are ideal because of their highly efficient energy storage and charge/discharge capabilities. However, a single SuperCapacitor cell is typically rated to 2.7V, and require a parallel/series combination of multiple devices to reach a 48V rated module. These modules can be complex, requiring careful attention to cell balancing, capacitance and ESR trade-offs, and need to be assembled consistently. For this reason, AVX has designed 48V SuperCapacitor modules with very low ESR at 165 Farads. It includes active balancing circuits for long life operation and reliability, in a high vibration resistant package that is ideal for robotic applications. Learn more: https://rebrand.ly/sncc92x
