Tarana ramping up fast4 Aug 2021 09:25
I had a nice conversation with Steven Glapa from the joint article.
He says that Ethernity gave him the nod for the PR lead so copied them on the piece.
He says
"Ethernity provided a nice FPGA-based Ethernet switch that enabled some customization of our packet processing that would have been more difficult with an ASIC-based product from Broadcom or whomever.
re: the market’s acceptance — we can’t build the gear fast enough. The sales pipeline has 70+ solid prospects in it (not counting hundreds of small WISPs we’re putting off till we can close on our first distributor deal in process), with 25 broadband operators in queue for pilot deployments, a good handful of which have multi-million subscriber potential like MTN"
I think that this product will be huge. $300m investment 12 years of work to arrive here. The market potential is huge 100's millions of units. The Ethernity part is small but Ethernity are very small so this will be a huge earner for really something from the old business development.
I estimate very cautiously $5m next year based on a booming market for Tarana who literally can't build them quickly enough.
You heard it here.
