I'd take the polar opposite view to you Mol. SOH has already gone "on record" and stated OPTi is now "fully funded through to profitability" - the recent Dr. Morepen deal is also expected to quickly give enhanced revenues in a much shorter timeframe.

I remember last spring there were the fundraising rumours around - which trashed the shares down to 6p at one stage. When it was realised these were utter nonsense there was a quick recovery up to 30p.

I would agree that over many years there have been numerous disappointments, but I get a very strong feeling this time round is very different.

We shall see in the coming months, but I take the positive view here that most of our previous letdowns are now behind us. Quite simply is you add up the value of our current SBTX and PBX holdings the core businesses are literally in there for a song at the current share price.

Have to agree Mol - the website does need sharpening up somewhat.

A positive mention in a widely read paper like the MOS is a big positive, and should be nurtured by the board. As I said earlier though, the Dr. Morepen deal could be very big news for OPTI and wasn't mentioned here so all things being equal, lots of positivity to come. It could be twofold also as some will be nibbling at the shares, and as it was an article on the drugs (with side effects) it might just encourage some who are taking them to switch to a natural alternative.

Also, I don't understand why O'Hara and the board haven't looked into the possibility of some TV advertising, especially a channel like GBNews. I understand their viewership is increasingly rapidly but because they have a limited number of advertisers currently, there may be some deals on offer. If SOH is reading this, why not kickstart our PR for once?

It's a shame they didn't highlight the recent Dr.Morepen deal which could be totally transformative for OPTI. The article should spur a bit of interest tomorrow though. I believe we have a trading statement due out soon as well.

......our Yorkshire friends are selling down again - apparently they are behind schedule anyway to reduce their holding. I suspect that's what kept the price down recently, so we have to grin and bear it until they are finished.

Of course, the flip side is it offers buying opportunities for those wanting to purchase ahead of the next trading statement and further news.

well, on one strong score tw is correct. opti is dirt cheap. when you think of the combined holdings they have of sbtx and pbx adding up to almost 50% of the current mcap, and the big chance of a re-rate for both, the growing core business is almost valued at nothing.

my "back of the *** packet" calculations have a current value for opti of around 30-32p per share as opposed to the current 19p. tw likes to comment on future value, i believe his quotes are around £50m mcap this year and in excess of £100m within 2-3 years, giving a share price above 100p.

we shall see, but as of now they appear markedly undervalued to me.

Martinu - yes I've held, on and off for a similar time, around 5 years I think.

I do though, get a very positive feeling that the vibes now, at last, are very positive indeed and SOH, for all his faults, is building OPTi up very nicely towards a very profitable company. Announcing a deal in the US would be a big achievement, given the large percentage of the population are having obesity problems.

TW has clearly done his homework on this one, and yes I accept he has a "large holding" here, but that's real skin in the game. He's very confident this is THE year for OPTi, no debt and fully funded heading towards profitability, eventually maybe in a bigger way than we originally thought.

It will be fascinating to watch it all develop this year I feel.

Not sure how many of you subscribe to Tom Winnifrith's excellent "share prophets" website, but OPTI is one his big tips for 2025 (yes, I know he's tipped them before but the fundamentals now do actually point to this year being OPTI's year). Contained within his article was one line that made me sit up, and it basically went "At some stage in 2025 we will get a big name Sweetbiotix deal". The wording we WILL as opposed to something like HOPEFULLY makes me wonder whether this deal could be nearer than many think. Obviously TW cannot reveal anything he may know in advance as it's price sensitive but I'm intrigued he's said that and take it as a very bullish comment.

I understand also that sales are very strong now and that the next trading statement, due this month, could be the turning point.

Thank you Butterly - hope you are well. As we drifted after the Boughtwood saga decided to withdraw for a while, nice to see he's been booted into touch, still holding long and strong and very tempted to accumulate at these daft levels.

Fallon, of course, a very experienced chap and should help to bring contacts and stability to the company. There is, of course, a lull in interest in EV's generally, things should become a lot clearer by year end after our election and that of the US where policy is concerned.

Maybe Commandant Starmer will order everyone to buy one to meet the "net zero" targets. If so, I'll insist on being driven by no less than Lady Thunberg.

Not a big dilution in the large scheme of things, but I have to agree 100% with StayLong - if it wasn't for the boughtwoods that could have been done around 0.25-0.30p.

But, the funds will be useful and used for the correct things so just a temporary setback, and yes probably the stock will be available under 0.10p for a while.

I got something very similar in my inbox. I think this bodes very well and shows the honesty at least of the BOD. On that basis I think the dust may well be settling now and I trust them to take the appropriate action.

yes, I'm sure a statement will be imminent anyway, this sort of speculation does nobody any good. Anybody venturing in now then at the 0.1p level could do very very well. I think the rest of us haven't much left to pile in with!

From the board is urgently required to stop the silly speculation and the damage done to the company by this distraction. This could easily evolve into panic selling and it would shut up some of the know-nothing idiots now starting to appear.

I am going to e-mail them again and again until they make a statement as to events, and I suggest other serious investors do the same this morning. I do not see why we should wait for their convenience - Boughtwood is either guilty or not and if so should be thrown out immediately unless he and his other half can come up with a serious and honest explanation.

Every hour that ticks by without a truthful explanation as to what happened, and/or an admission by Boughtwood (either one) will damage our reputation. All the hard work and research that has, and is, going into DGI will be for nothing.

Somebody has to show some balls here.
