WW 10.41 - I'd be surprised if RG and LD and the UK team were not primarily responsible for the CRUK SCIB 2 collab. and the BioNTech and the Karolinska and maybe the GC idea too. Maybe I am wrong but JC's role would be mainly USA commercial / fund raising etc and not too much has happened there USA wise.

I'd prefer a UK based Chairman at this point I admit - but it's a BB.

IMO Scancell could get a better placed Non Exec Chair for far less than £225K pa.

Genetech in the US - well I'm guessing if Scancell progress that way, LD will be central as will CH - possibly alongside Prof. Dr. Ugur Sahin for example.

A UK Non Exec Chair would be more appropriate for current activity AND less costly IMO.

I think we forget that JC has already backed off from Exec to Non Exec Chair. Maybe he is going to do the walk and we will be told soon.

Yes modern communication means the USA location is not a problem in itself - but we could have someone both closer to the team and more appropriate to the role ?

IMO and experience, when the time is right, such action should be taken and presented positively to the Investors who appreciate strong action when things are wobbling . . .

BTW - What's Richard Branson up to these days ? (Joking). Seriously, I see no problem in Scancell finding a semi-retired 'luminary' at £50K a year as a NON Exec for what 10 days pa.

It's quite simple - of JC the RNS said, ''his (JC's) appointment as Chairman is in line with the Company's strategy of increased focus in the US'' - that was 7th January 2016. Almost 3 full years later, we have nothing going in the USA at all, not even the THEN mooted SCIB1 Combo trial . . .

At the time the RNS announcing the appointment noted that JC had ''significant Board experience and strong track record in the life science and technology industries'', and no doubt that is true. However and with no disrespect to JC, apart from introducing USA remuneration philosophy to Scancell, there is little other evident payback despite his undoubted talents.

Scancell's activity in the USA seems to have stalled, apart from the SCIB1 Combo, which has also come to a halt just atm. And I suggest if JC has not been able to help the SCIB1 progress in the last 3 years - it's NOT a good sign.

For Scancell to have a part-time Chairman USA based, seems wholly incongruous to me. Surely some inspirational 'wise head' maybe semi-retired in Europe's 'World of Pharma', would be more appropriate ?

Now that JC has stepped back from Exec. to a Non-Exec. role, I wonder if it continues to be appropriate for Scancell to have a US based Chairman and a San Diego office ? Maybe we will see a change ?

JC can now move on with a massive and bargain shareholding in pocket. IF I say IF, there is nothing else in the wind US wise, other than SCIB1 Combo, (to which I'm not sure JC will contribute very much), maybe it's time to close the San Diego Office and get a Non-Exec Chairman who is based in Europe - there must be plenty of suitable Candidates, maybe from one of our Associates, who are much better placed than JC to contribute. Is there a change coming ?

IMO a Non-Exec. Chairman provides an occasional figurehead and orchestrates at Meetings of the BoD and not much more. With CH (hopefully) and LD very certainly on the ball , (with RG still around), there is enough vision to know where Scancell IS going.

So, time for a change ?
