Everyone has the right to manage their own finances. Most investors in the stock market doing it themselves for the first time lose money as they would on a seaside gambling machine. They do little research, they panic and emotions get the better of them, they do not use any analysis tools and in some cases are not that gifted in the intelligence department. After getting burnt once they disappear out of the market.
Those who succeed are doing the opposite in their portfolios. They are quite disciplined and have clear planning and hedge various positions. They use an occasional loss in a trading account as capital gains tax asset and remember to carry such things forward in tax returns. They do research and do not just follow the herd. They may use technical charts or macro and sector driven fundamentals.
When viewing the message board is the contributor just batting on their investment position. Hyping because they are long or have a CFD short position. Do they scribe in a matter that is informative and not repetitive that often leads to the use of the green filter button above subject title. Do they scribe in an aggressive manner which reminds you of a telephone call from a scammer or someone trying to get into you computer or get your financial bank details. Do they treat other people with respect on the board and they demonstrate what they they think and why with their model of analysis that you can reject or find helpful.
Hopefully folks will make money investing here, but you also have the right to lose money and learn from it and be a better investor if that was an eventual outcome. Tony
