The FED wants to fight inflation. They have problems if they continue to put interest rates and they can not do QT. The only thing they can do is sell gold for USD or sell other currency reserves to support USD. They are holding a lot of euros from all those winter gas sales. I suspect they will try and hold USD until the August holiday season. By then the FED will hope that inflation has backed off enough as not to be regarded as to much a problem and allow USD to fall back. At some point they will need to recover reserves. All above is just opinion. The upshot is that you have sold near a top unless my theory is wrong.

The message from Chart guys was not to trade the move until Thursday or Friday. The key parameter to observe was USD breaking below 100 on DXY.

Nanoco competitors without cash, little earnings and sailing along with credit ratings that border junk status won't be around as the settlement from Samsung gets banked into the account. Debt requirements are getting very tight and interesting times lie ahead. Nanoco ship is at the port dock in a very bad storm.

SP not sure what you wanted to highlight such as the pilot plant optimisation work on p19 that you keep referring to as activity RBW are engaged with and PRE have not done or perhaps it was the future development intention on page 23 on metal alloy production and plans to add to the future reserves and resources from the COOLA licence or perhaps you had issues on page 60 on the executive pay. Maybe you did not like the layout of the 18 year LJ mining plan. At least all the figures are there for scrutiny. What is clear was how much the Board lose on not getting funding, the Board pay and what equity was raised and how much the net assets grew in the company in the year. If you have data on benchmarking with other companies it would be helpful if you shared it by doing some work and adding to the debate rather than just flag wave and give us idle comment. We would all enjoy reading your findings if you could put them a tabulated form. It would be interesting to have Peak, RBW and MKA all in the same table. SP you will interpret anything to suit investing decisions that you have chosen and assume that you have no bias on data that you interpret and analyse. A further assumption that you make is that you have access to all the knowledge surrounding any investment prospect and there is nothing that you do not know about it. The vanity punter I think serves you well as a new handle name. You also love to bait people on LSE boards and that may give you some kind of pleasure but to many readers it lowers the tone to something you might see amongst 5 year olds in a playground.

SP has taken hits on other stock. It is all part of the risks we take when investing. I still ended the 2022/23 year positively up instead of deficit. The point I make to those new on investing is to have a very clear strategy on managing portfolio risks. A critical failure at Synairgen was not to collect a blood sample from all clinical trial patients for biobanking. If they had done so they would have probably delivered a therapy for orphan prescription use. They could also have validation on avoidance of long Covid illness and the collapse in share price would not have happened. The sub-contractor failed to do this and the Board management failed to have that part of the protocol implemented as written in the clinical trial protocol. It was not a lie, but a failure in managing a sub-contractor and a failed attention to detail by management. The relevance to PRE is that they at some point they may have to manage a number of sub-contractors and the professionalism in infrastructure delivery and attention to detail has to be very well managed. Significant risks in the future for Pensana remain after the financing stage and such factors arise in most growth stocks, however the rewards are often greater than with value stocks when things go well. Anyone bragging they only picker winner growth stocks is either unbelievably lucky and await such a future hit or they are being untruthful on websites such as these.

I continue to hold the Pensana core position that I held for some time. I am not sure if folks think I have a massive amount of shares in Pensana or not, but it has always been under 10% of the portfolio. I spent all of 2022/23 recovering from a Synairgen hit by trading HZM and Centamin volatility. I see nothing wrong in managing a portfolio with investment positions and trading positions on other stocks. What I try not to do is trade stocks that could be taken over completely and move them into investment. Tony

Blimey 3 negative messages about Pensana before the RNS as they approach going to the wall, and I am to be carted off to be shot for naysaying and also accused the other day of trading.

Lets be fair here. At 7am things looked absolutely awful. M&G and AWF could have made this all known earlier. They left it until they could see confidence evaporating everywhere including the absence of UK involvement on securing materials for climate protection target zero issues on the news earlier in the week. The London Evening News article was titled In the green race, China, America and the EU, leave Britain for Dust by Ben Judah. It looked utterly hopeless.

The RNS this morning changed everything. We shall see what happens this afternoon when New York opens. IF MG wanted Pensana cheap well they got a lot of cheap shares. Someone decided in recent days and with all the media and were told something. The RNS was not out at 7am. The all clear came when the market was open. Something big had to be agreed elsewhere as M&G are not a charity and neither is the AWF. Civil servants would have pointed out the London Evening news article to the PM. How could he defend against it when the weekend newspapers would be emerging. We would have stop oil protests a lot more every flipping day in London.

They certainly are. USA may be behind Angola and may be a part of discussions last month with their government. Hence why UK can sit on its hands and let USA own the asset even if it is in a UK free port. Germany wants to play with it as well.

China will want a good relationship with Tanzania. The agreement PEAK and the Tanzania Government will have is that they can be a global swing supplier. However, they do get initial output of ore. Angola will now see Rainbow Rare in SA and Tanzania with different arrangements.

I can not understand why Pensana has not suspended trading in its shares to give them time to sort things out. A month suspension is what is needed.

I suspect any refinery plans at Teeside could now be moved to Tanzania.

Events have moved on since then. The London Evening news confirmed last night that the UK is not aligning with USA or EU on their plans to secure rare earth and other supplies and the policy of a free market operation is what they are currently retaining. As a consequence it leaves Pensana in a hopeless position. Policy has again destroyed a PA project along with material high grading by Chinese competitors which is the equivalent of what failed Leyshon for him years ago. The project is probably now a salvage operation.
